Hi Vernon
Thanks for your post.  It would be lovely to hear from you again.  Minnie was my great grandmother, her son - John - my granddad.  His son, my dad, is also John and lives in Soham.
Look forward to hearing from you
Kim

Cambridgeshire / Stuntney 1871 Census - Fretwell
« on: Sunday 24 January 16 16:31 GMT (UK)  »
Help needed!
John & Ann (nee Watson) Fretwell were my gggg grandparents.  They are shown on the 1871 census living in Stuntney with children William 21 unmarried, John 19 unmarried (ggg grandfather), Sarah 18 married, Hannah 17 unmarried, Rebecca 15, Samuel 12 and Elizabeth 9.
Also shown on the same page are Susan Watson (who I believe is Ann's mother). She has listed in her household Furman & Sarah Lemon and their son Tom.  My research (via Ancestry) lead me to believe that Sarah Fretwell married Furman.  There is also Rebecca Fretwell listed aged 15.
I'm confused as it seems that Sarah and Rebecca are the same age as the Sarah and Rebecca living with John & Ann and I'm wondering if they could have been entered twice on the same census??

Hi
Sarah Fretwell was my 3rd great aunt.  I have found her birth/christening record but she is not listed on any census and I can't find anything about her death.
Born in 1834 to William & Lydia Fretwell in Stuntney.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

My ggg grandfather was William Wilden (Wilding / Whilden ) born approx. 1831 in Suffolk (shown as Bacton / Culford on 1871 and 1861 census records).  His wife was Sarah Flack, I think.  I have found their marriage in 1852 but am struggling to trace her prior to this.  She is on the 1871 and 1861 census with William.  I have located a Sarah Flack on 1851 census visiting Ursula Batch who appears to be her married sister.  On the 1841 census Ursula is living with her parents and family but no Sarah only a "Sally" - could this be the same person. Alternatively, there is another Sarah Flack on the 1841 census living with her parents and on the 1851 census the same Sarah is living with her parents but is shown as Sarah Nicholds plus a one year old daughter.  I was following the second line originally based on other family trees on Ancestry but think this may be incorrect.  Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am really stumped and seem to have hit a dead end.
