Thank so much, I had missed that!

Very interesting  and I’m sure that must be correct. My problem now is which John Peakman . The ones in my tree do not have death dates around that time.

Back to the drawing board,

Thanks again

Hello Everyone

It has been some years since I posted on  here, but wonder if any one can help me ?
Does anyone know which Peakman the street was named after in Redditch ?
 Thank you  anticipation

Thank you all for your replies....phew!!!!
I think I will try a combination of ways, as someone said "belt and braces". Having them backed up in several ways seems to be the solution.
Converting the JPG into word reduces space, I might try that , but it is the organisation after that is going to be fun!
It did of course occur to me that I need not have a copy of all the census forms for each person.......as a whole family is on the same form.
I must get on and do something, as most of the 'stuff' I have is on Ancestry and I know I wouldn't be able to access it if I decide to leave.
Someone mentioned to me that it would revert to a public tree if I did not renew.....can anyone throw any light on this ?
All hints and tips greatly appreciated, so if anyone has anymore....

Hello

I have been doing family research for a few years now using Ancestry. However, the price is becoming silly.
I thought I might close my account, but where o where do I store all the births, marriages census forms etc. They all seem to be in JPG form and will take up a great deal of space on the computer (husband not amused). As you can probably tell I am no techie.
All ideas welcome
Thank you

Thanks for the replies everyone, the idea of the cost of entertaining family and friends had not occurred to me.

The idea that they did not have them  baptised because so many died young also had not occurred, as I had assumed the opposite, that they would want to have them baptised because they died so young.

You live and learn
Thanks again

Hello Ayashi

Sorry i don't understand your reply.

I was just wondering why people waited a few years and then had several children baptised at the same time.

Hello
An old post I know, but I have just picked up on it. I too have found multiple baptisms, whilst researching my family tree and was wondering why it was done.
I would have thought that due to the high child mortality rate, they would have had there little ones baptised asap.
Am I being particularly dim here?
Was it a question of cost.

Thanks Xinia

I'm glad I am not the only one, do you put family groups together, if so how as they sort of drift from one generation to the other.
Maybe  chronologically ....that is if you know the date.

I remain very much confused

The Common Room / Tips wanted on how to organise photographs
« on: Sunday 15 July 12 23:43 BST (UK)  »
Hello Everyone

Can anyone please give me some ideas on how to organise family photographs? I have the albums and I certainly have the photographs, but I am driving myself crazy as to how to organise them.  :-\
I intend to leave the ones I have acquired in the albums they arrived in.

All ideas gratefully received.

A very confused
