Census Lookup and Resource Requests / 1861 Census look up help
« on: Saturday 21 May 16 17:01 BST (UK)  »
I cannot find my ancestor on this census. John PETTS born 17th May 1851 Wadhurst which has been in Sussex and Kent depending on what you are looking at.  His parent were George PETTS and Martha HODGEKIN.

Any help finding this family would be great, I have them on the 1871 and Martha on the 1881 as a widow, ans John with his wife Jane on the 1881.

It is just the 1861 I cannot find  :-\

Thank you in advance  :)

Travelling People / Re: Help with SMITH & BIRCH please
« on: Saturday 21 May 16 16:03 BST (UK)  »
Hi Hostile17,

Well if it is any help Caroline Birch did live Vere Court, Little Gonerby and was married to Azey Birch.     Caroline's had a daughter Hannah but she married George Rouse in 1888. I wonder if Caroline had a sister Hannah?? I have found the marriage of Clark Newbury but this is to Annie Smith, June 1/4 1883  I think it might be a mistake saying that Lydia was born USA. Do you have any other evidence to lead you to her being born USA?

By the way Newington was in Lambeth at that time. Well that what it says on the copy of the Census return.
