Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / Lyndon Angus James

I have a record of Lyndon A James born 1925 in Merthyr Tydfil, I believe his mother's maiden surname was Phillips. Siblings I know of are Joan, Dilys, Malcolm & Barbara.
I am trying to find the full names of Lyndon's parents and any other information.
Lyndon emigrated to Australia in 1942 on his own and died here in 1986. :)
Also found a medals list, discharge #R261440. National Archives, Kew. Believe he was in the Navy.
Can anyone help please.

William Paice
In the will of William Paice 1829 it records that he had a Cabinet Makers workshop in New Street (I believe the corner of Winchester Street) The business was passed to his sons William and George.
William Paice (Jn) will of 1843 record the same business as Cabinet Maker and upholsterer
Is there any record of this business in the trade directory. thanks. :)

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Re: Edward & Charles PAICE

:) Thanks very much Jennifer.
That's great, adds a bit more to the picture.
It would be lovely to find any marriage details for Charles T or Edward.
If I order the death certificate for Charles T Paice, maybe that would give greater detail.
Can a copy of the Will for Edward d.1940 be purchased.

I have been following the family through from 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901 and 1911 but have come to the end of the line.

1911 records both men aged 27 and 28 but still single.
Father, Edward aged 57 and Mother, Lilian aged 50 are at the same address with sons.

Trying to find any information after this date.
i.e. Marriage of sons. death of mother and father.

My G Grandfather, Thomas b.1823, who came to Australia was the brother of Charles Paice b.1817. This Charles was the father of Edward Paice b.1854.

I am trying to find more information on part of my Paice family.
I am working my way down the tree with the hope of finding current family in the UK.

What do I know so far:
Edward Paice b.1854, Basingstoke, Company Secretary. married Lilian ? b.1861.
They had 2 children:
Edward Paice b.1883, St Margarets, Middlesex. Solicitor.
Charles Tasker Paice b.1884, St Margarets, Middlesex. Bank Clerk.

Last I can find out about this family is on the 1911 Census where they are living at 25 Copers Cope Road, Beckenham, Kent.

I am in Australia and don't know where to look from here - can anyone give me a hand.  :)

Australia / Re: Charles McKANNA
« on: Sunday 16 January 11 09:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Katharine,
With the help of a very talented Rootschat team and the purchase of certificates we have been able to go back a bit from where we were:

Felix McKanna, occ Butcher, married Catherine Ford, Ireland.

Son: John McKanna b.1809 Armagh, Northern Island, occ Farmer. d.1863 Maitland NSW Australia
married (1st ) Ellen of Helen Caffrey b.1822 County Galway, Ireland. d.1858, Ravensworth NSW Australia.

They had 5 children:
Thomas b.1844 Port Macquarie, married Mary Carney & lived in the Grafton area.
John b.1846 Port Macquarie, married Sarah McPherson.
Catherine b.1846/48 Port Macquarie, married Hugh McPherson.
Laurence b.1849 Maitland, married Mary Ann McLennan & also lived in the Grafton area.
Helen b.1851 Port Macquarie, married John McLennan.

John's ist wife Ellen/Helen died in 1858 so John re-married in 1859 to Mary Macquarie b. abt 1837 NSW
They then had 3 children:
Margaret b.1859 Port Macquarie.
Charles b.1862 Yarras, NSW, married Annie Ada Francesca Beissel b.1864 New Zealand.
Mary b.1864 d.1864 Port Macquarie.

Katharine, I haven't found any link with Bathurst area, they seemed to mainly around the mid north coast of NSW, although I don't know where John 1846 and Sarah went.

Rob  :)
