Hey - good afternoon.

I just came across this and seen the message, so I signed up so I can say I.  I might now live in the house the Gourleys lived in in Magherscouse.  Im in number 21 Magherascouse Road and have an old photo of the family and the cottage (that's still there).

Hi John,

Thanks again for the information you so kindly sent me. My sister and I have been working on our family tree for years, also our grandmother was very interested in family history but she never divulged the name of our father's father!! Obviously our daddy was illegitimate and try as we may it might always be a secret.
The middle name of Falkland is on our tree and linked to Lucius Cary (Carey) 2nd Viscount Falkland, this is where my grandmother got it from as she had a very old family tree. Lots of history!!!
So maybe a trip to visit churches for the baptismal records on the hope granny put dad's dad's name on that, she might have, she was a very regular church attendee. She was the last person you would imagine having a child out of wedlock!!!
Anyway John, on with the search. Many thanks Fran..

Thank you Jon_ni, so so much for your help. You have been so kind in taking time to reply. I will certainly contact St. Clements and St. Patrick's to try and find my Dad's baptism. He must have been baptised somewhere!!  My grandmother (Dad's Mum) Annie Elizabeth Carey was married in St. Marks in 1916, and her sister Maude was married in St. Claments in 1918 so both churches were used by the family.
As I live in England it is not so easy for me to research these things. But hopefully I will maybe manage a trip this year to Belfast, it would be good to visit home again.
Once again many thanks for your time and help. Fran....

Does anybody know how I can search baptismal records for St. Marks Dundela Belfast. Looking for a baptism record of my father Robert Falkland Carey, born August 1907 mother's name Annie Elizabeth Carey.
Many thanks for any help. Fran.....
