22 Jan 1722/3 Farrow Salter of Lowestoft SM (=single man) & Rebekah ????? Yar (= of Yarmouth) SW (=single woman).  The images on ancestry and FamilySearch are not clear enough to make out Rebekah's surname.  And the PR entry, although very clear, omits her name altogether.  So I am wondering whether anyone is visiting Norfolk Record Office and would be able to have a look at the original copy of the BT's to see what Rebekah's surname was, please?

This is a link to the BT image on FamilySearch so you can see whereabouts it is - top half of column 2.

Wiltshire Lookup Requests / Pewsey Parish Registers - BRISTOW
« on: Saturday 15 February 14 16:06 GMT (UK)  »
I'm trying to find out more about a couple who married at Pewsey 1 May 1763 - Robert Bristow and Elizabeth Durnford.  Could someone please look at the parish register entry for the marriage to find out what information is given about them, and the witnesses' names? And also at the Pewsey baptisms for a few years following the marriage for any children of the couple, please?  There doesn't seem to be much Pewsey stuff online at all. Thanks very much to anyone who can help.

Down / Killinchy Presbyterian parish registers - Stevenson
« on: Thursday 12 August 10 13:24 BST (UK)  »
I've found a marriage listed on the new FamilySearch Record Search pilot site: William Stevenson married Mary Kinnin 8 Aug 1829 Presbyterian, Killinchy, Co Down.  But it doesn't seem to be listed on the Irish Family History Foundation / Ulster Historical Foundation websites, where I was hoping to get more details.  (The only William Stevenson marriage in Down in 1829 listed on there is at Seapatrick, and he didn't marry a Mary).  Is there anyone on here who has access to the records and could look it up for me, please?

Is anybody going to Bristol Record Office who could look up a marriage for me, please?  I would be so grateful.

Thomas VOWLES married Hannah FILER at St Mary Redcliffe, Bristol 13th December 1812.  I would like to know any details given (though I already have both OTP, by banns, so I realise there may be nothing else, but hoping for spinster or widow for Hannah) and the names of the witnesses, please?

Thanks to anybody who can help.

Kate.

Europe / GERMANY: What info would a 1910 German birth cert tell me?
« on: Saturday 27 October 07 18:35 BST (UK)  »
My grandmother was born in Berlin - Lichtenberg in 1910.  I have a copy of her baptism certificate, which tells me:
her full name, date of birth, date of baptism,
name, address occupation and religion of father,
name, maiden name and religion of mother.

If I were to get a copy of her birth certificate, would it tell me any more than this?  (And if so, then what?)

Somerset / How would I get a copy of a will from 1845?
« on: Thursday 13 September 07 23:27 BST (UK)  »
I have found an entry in the "Estate Duty Wills" index on the Somerset Archives website for a Charlotte Portman of Timberscombe, dated 1845.  Does anybody know how I would go about getting a copy of the will, please?

Hope I have posted this on the right board.  Genresearch, you are kindly offering lookups of the Bristol Wills book.  Could you please have a look to see if there are any entries for the surname Glas(s)codine?  Thanks very much indeed for your offer.

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Freemen of Great Yarmouth - SALTER
« on: Thursday 15 February 07 13:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Jakky,
Thanks for the very kind offer.  Could you please have a look at the Freemen of Great Yarmouth book to see if there are any SALTER entries?  Particularly Thomas Salter (who married Judith Rogers in Great Yarmouth in 1775 and died in 1816), but I would love to know if there are any other Salters too.  And if it isn't too much trouble, could you look to see if there are any ROGERS entries too?  Thanks again.
Kate.

I am having trouble finding my ancestor Grace GLASSCODINE on the 1841 census, and at last I have the death certificate of her daughter dated 13th May 1841, address 8 Arundel Place, subdistrict Lansdown, district Bath.  Unless they moved out straight after the daughter died the family should still be there on census night, but I can't even find Bath on the ancestry 1841, much less Lansdown!  Anybody know the piece number I should be looking at?
Thanks for any help,
Kate.
