Derbyshire / Cresswell Fletcher marriage 1856 or 1858?
« on: Monday 01 February 21 13:45 GMT (UK)  »
I have a newspaper announcement from the Derbyshire Courier - Saturday 10 May 1856 as below:-

Thursday, the Ist inst,at St. Mary Nottingham, by the Rev. H. Hall, Mr. Joseph Cresswell, of Stanton-by Dale, to Sarah, eldest daughter of Mr. Joseph Fletcher, of Risley Park.

These details match exactly the information I have.

The problem is that the only BDM record I can find for the marriage is in 1858 Q1 Vol 7B P233.  Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks

This, I think, is another photo of Margaret Elizabeth Chavasse (older? and sans hair piece) that I've just come across and would like to have restored.

The first was posted on 10 December. Thanks

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Thomas Frederick Chavasse 1854-1913

Firstly I would like to thank all those who enhanced the Margaret Elizabeth Chavasse photo - the most surprising thing to me is that she is wearing glasses, I hadn't noticed them in my image.

Thomas Frederick Chavasse is attached.  He is a half sibling of Margaret Elizabeth.

I look forward to being stunned!

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Forte Family Photo
« on: Friday 04 December 20 20:23 GMT (UK)  »
Four men from my distant ancestors, the Forte family of England and Barbados, are in the attached photograph.  Two different sizes of the images are attached together with their names etc.

I would be most grateful if these images could be enhanced.  Also I wonder if it would be possible to ask if head and shoulder profiles could be achieved.

Thanks

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Family Wedding Group 1904
« on: Friday 20 November 20 13:02 GMT (UK)  »
I am lucky enough to have acquired a few years ago from a Canadian cousin a photo of the marriage group at my paternal grandparents union in 1904 in Sutton Coldfield.  The groom is Francis Robert Tutton and the bride Lucy Evans Chavasse.

I am now trying to put names to the people in the group (no easy task) and wonder if it is possible to create portraits of each for easier identification.  The photo is pasted to a cardboard backing, is black and white, measures about 36cms width x 21 cms height and features some 40 people.

I have a selection of photos of the photo in tif and jpg formats (photo too big for my scanner) in a Dropbox folder.  Is this something that is possible and does facial recognition work?

Any advice gratefully received.  As you will have guessed I am out of my comfort zone with photo technology!

Nottinghamshire / Jane Richardson
« on: Friday 28 August 20 14:46 BST (UK)  »
I have been trying without success to find a baptism record for Jane Richardson.  She is my great-grandmother and married my great-grandfather in 1853 in the Wycliffe Chapel, Heaton Norris.  According to census returns from 1841 to 1901 she was born in 1832 in Nottingham.  In 1841 she was living with a Patience Howe aged 75 in Stockport. In 1851 she is known by the name of Shore with Patience Howe now known as Patience Laughton and mother in law of the householder a James Shore and still in Stockport.

Her marriage cert gives her father as either John Richardson deceased a Cutter or Cutler.

Any help will be appreciated.
