Shropshire / John Hopwood b. 1798-1806
« on: Thursday 29 December 16 19:08 GMT (UK)  »
I would be so grateful if anyone has access to John's baptism records so I can verify his parents. I know he was born in Weston Shropshire and married to Anne Davies in 1825 in Madeley Shropshire and that my direct ancestor Rebecca was born in 1837. My difficulty is that although many family trees suggest that John's parents were Joseph Hopwood b.c. 1752 and Mary Broughall, I cannot find proof of this. (The discrepancy in John's birth date is due to varying ages on the censuses). His baptism is often quoted from parish records as 1st March 1798 but I just need proof!
I would be really grateful if anyone has access to his record.
Many thanks

« on: Tuesday 02 December 14 19:27 GMT (UK)  »
If anyone can discover Thomas' parents I would be so grateful. His marriage cert. 1848 just states that his father is dead. I know he married Sarah Harvey in Caversall and am aware of his 12 children but can't access any parish records further back for Thomas. This is a tall order but all the info. I have.
Many thanks to anyone who can help!

Hi,
I live in England and for years I have been trying to trace my ancestor Farrel McGlone b. 1815 England. He was transported as a criminal to Australia and I have discovered on the web that a man of his name was working on the Illinois and Michigan Canal in 1848. (McGlone, Farrel IM/CFN/G-11/184801 McGlone, Farrel IM/CFN/G-11/184802). I would be so very grateful anyone could provide me with any further details of him.
Many thanks

Wiltshire / Philpot look-up request
« on: Tuesday 04 December 12 18:25 GMT (UK)  »
I'd be really grateful if anyone could give me information on Robert Philpot (no further details) who married Hannah b. circa 1793 Urchfont Wilts. They were the parents of my ancestor Martha b. 1821 Rowde Wiltshire. I have all details of the family post 1841 but would love to know Robert's parentage and Hannah's maiden name and family.

Many thanks

World War One / RNVR Nelson Battalion
« on: Monday 29 October 12 19:06 GMT (UK)  »
My grandfather served in the above battalion and I have his service history from National Archives. He suffered horrendous injures during his life and I'm going to France this year to try to follow where he fought. Getting actual details of the battles he was actually in is proving really difficult though. After Gallipoli, I know he  set off for France on 1.6.1916 and after that all the details I have are as follows:

disembarked at Marseilles 7.6 1916, rejoined the Nelson Battalion in France 15.6.1916, recd BFDO 34 19.6.16, recd BFDO 35 20.6.16, recd BEF DO 38 (Nelson) 23.6.16, No 3 F. Company Deep Dugout Platoon 22.7.16, admitted to the 8th Stationery Hospital at Wimereux 29.10.16.

I know this is a tall tall order but I'd be so grateful if anyone could help

Many thanks

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Ancestors of Thomas Caddick b. circa 1766
« on: Friday 02 December 11 17:35 GMT (UK)  »
I would be so grateful if anyone could trace the parents of my ancestor above or his wife.  The facts I have to date are: he married Mary Harris in Oldswinford Worcsestershire on 22nd March 1792. Mary was born circa 1766  (Thomas' birth year is only a guess based on her). They had a son Thomas born 1794 Sedgley Staffordshire and who died 12th April 1861 West Bromwich.

Thank you

Yorkshire (West Riding) Completed Requests / Conisbrough Parish Record COMPLETE
« on: Sunday 16 January 11 18:48 GMT (UK)  »
I'd be so grateful if anyone can help with a look-up for the marriage at St Peter's Church Conisbrough of George E. Caddick and Matilda Kendell Wood in 1869.
To continue with my research I need to know the name of George's father who I hope is named Joseph.
Any further information on the couple would be really appreciated.
Many thanks
Julie
