HAYWARD LOOKUP:  George Walter Hayward (used Walter in Canada) born Newbury, Berkshire 1845-50.  Married Ruth from Chelvey bucks and immigrated to Quebec Canada 1884.  the family belonged to the 'Plymouth Brethren' in Sherbrooke Quebec where there was a large congregation (?) of this group.  I have looked into the other George Haywards in Newbury at that time but so far can not make connection. I did notice that Newbury, at that time, had a Lower Meeting House Independant parish and cemetery?

1871 George Walter was living Upton With Chalvey, Buckinghamshire, England
Geo 26 (or 28 or 27 every census was different age.) born Newbury Berks approx 1845 labourer, wife Ruth 26 Born Chelvey Bucks and some of his children.  Then they lived in Kensington for awhile before immigrating to Canada.  Thank you Thankyou!

Berkshire Lookup Requests / 1749 Peter Martin transported

Bonded Passengers to America 1749 Lent:

Peter Wilson Coldham’s volumes “Complete Book of Emigrants in Bondage.”  A Peter Martin was listed as AT 1749 (Awaiting Transportation) to the Americas.  Lent (April?), Laura (ship), Litchfield, Berkshire.  My Peter Martin first showed up in Halifax Nova Scotia during it's founding in 1749, which was settled by anyone they could get to come help build the fort and settle the town for a grant of land and a year's worth of rations. His grant was issued July 1749.  There has been mentions of convicts being sent there as well but no records so far.   This is my strongest lead as I have a lot of information on him from this time forward, he was a fishermen, signed with an x and must have worked hard as received more grants.  I believe he is one of those who intentionally hid his past.  Only family lore was Irish from Galway and regiment of foot. I found a Peter Martin, which oddly enough is not a common name, at Louisbourg in 1759 in the 45th as a private during the demolition of the fort after the battle on the plains of Abraham.   12 years of intense searching would be very appreciative if someone has access to the assizes in berkshire to get more detailed information.

Thanks very much.
