Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Pinfold family, Central Warwick
« on: Monday 18 January 21 00:02 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All

Could anybody please comment on the date of this photo?

I would like it to be around 1895 because if it is then I'm fairly sure that I can identify everyone in the photo (my great-great grandparents and their children/grandchildren).

If any friendly wizards could improve the quality too I would be incredibly grateful :)

Thanks

Julie

Hi

Can anyone with any local knowledge of Llanover in Monmouthshire hazard a guess at this village name please?

Thanks :)

Hi Everyone

Could anyone hazard a guess at when this photo was taken? I assume it is a family occasion, perhaps a christening of the baby in the arms of the seated lady. I know the people in the photo were having children between about 1845 and 1870.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kindest Regards

Julie

Yorkshire (West Riding) / St George, Brook Hill, Sheffield - TAYLOR
« on: Tuesday 25 October 16 21:19 BST (UK)  »
Hi Everyone

Does anyone have access to the marriage parish registers for Sheffield, St George, Brook Hill, Yorkshire (West Riding), England for 1860?

I know that Robert William Taylor married Amelia Thornsby in 1860 but I am desperate to find out who Robert's parents were.

I have Robert on the 1861 to 1891 census but there are a few options for the 1841 and 1851 census and without a parent's name I cannot determine which are the correct ones.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kindest regards

Julie

Lancashire / BARON Wigan
« on: Monday 16 May 16 23:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi All  :)

Is there anyone out there with an interest in Barons in Wigan?

I have an Esther Baron, circa 1808, who married William Burchall in 1835. I have had absolutely no luck finding a birth/baptism record for her and therefore I have no clue who her parents/siblings were. If only she'd waited a couple of years to get married I could have ordered a copy of her marriage certificate :(

I would be extremely grateful for any help.

Kindest Regards

Julie

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Campsall - Location of Burial
« on: Sunday 14 April 13 19:10 BST (UK)  »
Hi All

My great-grandparents both died in Campsall, Doncaster. Ellen Cobner in Jan-Mar 1957 aged 82 and Arthur Cobner in Oct-Dec 1961, aged 85.

Does anyone have any idea where they are likely to have been buried? I know it wasn't at the nearby church in Campsall. Is there any way I can find out the location of their burials (if they were buried rather than cremated)? I bought a copy of the National Burial Index (Third Edition) but they are not listed on there.

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

Westmeath / Peter Doyle, Mullingar
« on: Wednesday 14 January 09 13:56 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone...

I know it's a long shot but I have finally managed, after years of searching, to find the area of Ireland that some of my ancestors came from ... thanks to the 1911 census, yippee!!

Peter Doyle (son of James), born circa 1849, lists Mulingar, West Meath as his place of birth. Peter married Mary Burke who was born circa 1853 in County Galway. Mary was the daughter of Richard and Bridget Burke, both born circa 1820.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Mulingar was a tiny little place with just one church? And if a Rootschat member had access to the parish records or an interest in people of the same name?? Sigh ...

As always, any help or advice would be much appreciated

Family History Beginners Board / Birth Certificates: 2006
« on: Tuesday 29 July 08 20:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

I have ordered many, many birth certificates during the course of tracking down my ancestors, but I have been recently been asked by a friend if it is possible to get a copy of a birth certificate from 2006.

I have no idea if this is possible ... could somebody advise me whether or not there are online search facilities that will provide a reference number?

I know the name and birthdate of the individual in question.

Regards, Julie
