Armed Forces / discharged after 16 days for what?
« on: Thursday 16 August 07 12:37 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Can anyone help with deciphering and finding the reason for this chaps discharge. When enlisting to terrortorial reserves (Nov 1914) he stated age as 34 (he was proberbly nearer 50) and said he had been a time served solder with 4th Cheshire Regiment.

Could the age thing be the problem??

Any help appreciated

« on: Monday 30 July 07 11:20 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Be very much obliged if anyone can find a death for a Elizabeth Brindley between November 1795 and March 1797.

The area would be East Cheshire (Macclesfield/Congleton) or the Cheshire/ Staffordshire borders, Leek maybe.

many thanks

Casual employment opportunity for person with an interest in family history. Person wanted as driver (large car/van required) to family history fairs as well as working the stall on the day. Training on products will be given.

All petrol costs and hotel (if req) also payment for the day of the fair. Would suit p/t employed or retired person as most fairs need to be set up on Friday afternoons. We are located in Cornwall so would really only suit those living in Cornwall or West Devon.
Also looking for volunteer memorial transcribers for Devon churchyards pref with a digital camera and also transcribers for records held at North Devon Record Office.
