Antrim / Wilmot Smerdon Mack

Help wanted to find Wilmot Smerdon Mack. He was in Belfast for 4 years (1907 - 1911). Born 17 June 1875 in Hackney, London, he married Marianne Lena Firth at Richmond Surrey in January 1898 and they had a son, Percy Wilmot Blyth Mack, later in June of that year.
But, by the 1901 Census Wilmot Smerdon Mack was in lodgings in London on his own... but not for long because he had a child by Prudence Eleanor Cook(e), Gerald Mack who was born on 24 February 1903 (my wife's father). Then on 1 April 1907 Eleanor (as she refers to herself) (would be) wife of Wilmot Smerdon Mack gives birth to Norman Mack at 7 Allworthy Avenue, off the Antrim Road, Belfast, which looks like rented property. This fact is proven from a new certificate from your GRONI.
Wilmot was an artist, signwriter, commercial artist and/or fine artist. His father was a wealthy banker but most of what I surmise is that he was a bit of a rakish character… the birth certificate of Norman in 1907 is the last trace of Wilmot Smerdon Mack. By The 1911 Census, my missing 4 years, Eleanor and sons Gerald & Norman are back in Sydenham South East London and she describes herself as a widow and home worker making flags! But was she actually married to Wilmot Smerdon Mack and was he really dead!
My wife is convinced her grandfather just did another runner, off to America or somewhere like County Clare (conjecture)… some lateral thinking and any help welcomed.
