The Lighter Side / DoBs, Marriages, Deaths etc

I may be somewhat old fashioned in my outlook but whenever I notice information taken from a database that someone (or group of people) has taken the trouble to prepare and put online, for the benefit of other researchers, and no acknowledgement has been given to their website I feel extremely annoyed.

The Lighter Side / First Cousins
« on: Saturday 11 April 09 12:46 BST (UK)  »
What's the record number of first cousins ???
Which country would tend to produce the highest numbers of first cousins ???

A Radio Ulster presenter told listeners he has none but mentioned someone with ninety seven and another with sixty two.

Right ... there's a new target to be beaten ... one hundred and twenty eight.

Don't forget ... you must have the names of all of them in your address book.

The Common Room / Baptism's being revoked
« on: Friday 10 April 09 17:45 BST (UK)  »
I wonder how common a practice revoking one's baptism and confirmation is likely to become. Christiaan Briggs' Last Straw weblog contains an article on the subject http://last-straw.net/2006/04/revoking-baptism-and-confirmation There was an item on Radio 4 this afternoon about a British guy who had revoked his Baptism. He'd heard about it being done by a guy in Spain and decided to follow suit. GayTwentyFourSeven reports on how John Hunt, who was the guy on the BBC, managed to have his baptism revoked. www.gcn.ie/feature.aspx?articleid=1433&sectionid=14
