Huntingdonshire / Sarah FAREY b abt 1786 Holywell cum Needingworth
« on: Sunday 12 February 12 03:22 GMT (UK)  »
Hi board,

I'm looking for any information on the Farey family of Holywell, particularly the family of Sarah Farey, b abt 1786, bapt 30 July 1786. Her mother is apparently given as Mary at baptism (I have not seen the record).

She married James Golding of Cambridgeshire in Holywell on 12 Oct 1804 (I have not seen this record either) They had 6 children before James died in 1820. Sarah died in 1857 in St. Ives.

Thanks

Clare / Marriage of Elizabeth HEARNEY & Joseph GARNETT Ennis abt 1820
« on: Friday 01 April 11 22:37 BST (UK)  »
Hi Folks,
My 2 x Great-grandfather Joseph Garnett was originally from Morley in Yorkshire. At some point he travelled to Ireland. (perhaps to the garrison in Ennis?) He apparently married Elizabeth Hearney in Ennis around 1820. Their first child Joseph was born about 1821 in Ennis. The family then travelled to England, back to Joseph's birthplace in Morley, before the birth of their second child Mary, my Great-grandmother.
Any information at all anyone could give me about the marriage, or Joseph Jr's birth, or about the Hearney family of Ennis would be really helpful.
Thanks

Hi all!
James Parsons (b abt 1798 in Milborne Port) is my 2 x Great-grandfather. Does anyone have access to the Milborne Port baptismal records to look his birth up?
Thanks!

Ireland / Elizabeth Hearney b abt 1793
« on: Wednesday 23 March 11 19:45 GMT (UK)  »
Hi folks,
I am trying to find any information on Elizabeth Hearney (my 2 x Great-grandmother). According to English census records, she was born in Ireland (nothing more specific than that I'm afraid) in abt 1793.
She married an Englishman called Joseph Garnett, who was born in Morley Yorkshire, and worked in the wool business. I assume that they married in Ireland, because their eldest son Joseph was born in Ireland in 1821. They must have travelled back to Joseph's home between 1821 & 1824 because their second child Mary (my Great-grandmother) was born in Morley in 1824.
I'm hoping someone can set me off in the right direction. Even knowing which Irish county to focus on would be a help!
Thanks

Hi folks,
My 3 x G-grandfather John Rayson was supposedly born in Stoke sub Hamdon in 1773, & later married Mary Chant (possibly born in Stoke or Norton sub Hamdon).
Any records to confirm this info, or shed any light on parentage would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Hi again folks!
My 4th G-grandfather, John Measures, married a Mary Dawes at St. Martin's in Leicester on 26th May 1766. I have been unable to find any other record of Mary, so hopefully if someone is able to look up the church marriage docs, there might be a clue.
Thanks!

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Sarah Ann Barfield - Runcorn
« on: Monday 07 February 11 16:21 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Folks,
I am trying to track down my (somewhat elusive) great-grandmother, Sarah Ann Barfield. She was born in 1849 according to most censuses, but reported various birthplaces on different censuses, including Runcorn on 2 censuses. She married my great-grandfather, John Measures, on 12 October1873 at All Saints in Leicester. On the marriage certificate, her father is given as George, a butcher.
I have been unable to find any valid record of Sarah Ann before her marriage, or of her father George at all. She may have a brother John J., a house-painter, born about 1854, who was a lodger with her in the 1901 census.
Any clues from local Cheshire records would be gratefully received!
Thanks!
