Galway / Edward BURKE Born 1808 in Loughrea, Galway Parents/Grandparents?

Hi,

I have always struggled with researching Irish ancestors and was hoping some people could help me find information on Edward's parents/grandparents.

Here is the information I have.

Edward Burke Born 27 Aug 1808 in Loughrea, Galway (possible father's name is John)

He immigrated to England some time before 1847.

He married Margaret Mary Madden (b1826 d1911) in St George Southwark, London, England (her father is also from Galway, Thomas Madden b about 1798)

In the 1851 English census he was living in Islington, Middlesex as a trade warder.

They had 4 children all born in Middlesex-
William Henry Burke 1848-1889
Louisa Agnes Burke 1849-1871
Joseph Edward Burke 1856-?
Lucy Jane Burke 1857-?

They all lived in Clerkenwell, Middlesex in the 1861 England census

they immigrated to Australia and arrived in Melbourne on 30 Jan 1862

He died on 22 Sep 1885 in Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia.

Hi,

I have 2 people from around the same area/ time and have the same last name, I have a feeling they could be related, can anyone help with this?

this is what I have for now.

Martha Vizor Unknown Parents
Born- c1778
Married- 03 Nov 1808 in Bedminster, Somerset to Joseph Scutts (1778-1857, born and died Foxley)
Died- Jun 1846 in Foxley Wiltshire.
They had at least 6 children baptised in Foxley-
John Scutts (1809-)
Priscilla Vizor Scutts (1810-)
Isaac Scutts (1811-)
Joseph Scutts (1814-)
Joseph Scutts (1816-)
Arthur Scutts (1816-)

Aaron Vizor to Joseph Vizor and Mary
Born - 1777 in Foxley
Married - 13 Feb 1811 (or 1812) in Foxley to Mary Biddle
Died - Unknown
They had at least 4 Children
Joseph Vizor (1812-) Wiltshire
Esther Vizor (1814-1887) b Foxley, d Malmesbury
Mary Vizor (1817-) Wiltshire
Arthur Vizor (1820-) Easton Grey, Wiltshire

Hi,

I have been trying to find more information on Alice Jane Davies (1881-1964) parents.

I Believe they are William Thomas Davies and Elizabeth Brown but I can't find anything else other than their names.

Born 1881 in Stawell, Vic, Australia
Died 1964 in Ascot, Vic
Married Llewellyn Ronal Roberts in 1904.

Children:
Aneurin Owain Roberts 1905-1985
John Elias Roberts 1907-1997
Llewellyn Ronal Roberts 1913-1992
David Evan Roberts 1914-1975
Lloyd George Roberts 1918-Unknown

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Mathew Paish Parents

Hi,

I am trying to find more information on Mathew Paish's parents, I have the following information.

born about 1803
Baptised 10 Apr 1803 in Cirencester, Gloucestershire
Married Hester (Esther) Garlick 24 Apr 1831 in Cirencester
His Dad is Charles Paish (or Pash)

Mathew and Hester had the following childred
Elizabeth Paish (1837-)
Joseph Paish (1838-1877)
David Paish (1841-)
Hester Paish (1843-)
James Paish (1846-)
Mathew Paish (1851-), I think he married a Hester.

Wiltshire Lookup Requests / William Webb baptism record c 1799

Hi,

I am trying to find sources for a family tree I was given from a family member.

on the tree I was given it has listed
William Webb born 1799
Parents Thomas Webb (1775-) and Johanna (1777-)
Married Mary (1803-) from Ogbourne at Purton, Wiltshire.
he had a son Charles Webb (1831-)

I have found them in the 1841 and 1851 censuses, the 1851 mentions his birth place as Stratton St Margaret.

The only baptism record I can find that is similar is this https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:J7DP-LNL but then that means the parents are incorrect.

There was a William Webb born to a Thomas and Joanna but he was born in 1810 in Chisledon.

From what I can see the person who originally made a tree has done so incorrectly.

I hope someone can help me confirm which is the correct baptism, I am leaning towards the 1798 one.

Australia / Gladys Buckley Bruni (Gorman) parents and grandparents

Hi,

I am trying to find information on Gladys Buckley Bruni (Gorman) parents and grandparents.

Gladys was born in 1902 in Kyneton, Victoria and has 2 last names recorded Bruni and Gorman.
She died in 1955 in Preston, Victoria.

He mother is Rose (Rosanna Gorman) and father is possibly John Bruni but I have seen it as Brune also.

I'm not sure if her parents were born in Australia or somewhere else.

I think Buckley could be from her mothers future husband but I'm not sure if that would change the names on a birth record.

Hi,

I am trying to find information about the parents of Shirley Joan Aitken (or Aitkin)

Shirley was born in Victoria, Australia 6 Aug 1928

Her parents names are Leslie (Unsure of spelling) Aitken (Aitkin) and Gladys Buckley.

I don't have any other information on them but a family member thinks they were born in Australia.

Sorry about being so vague but I am unable to find any other information.

I am trying to locate a few things about George Curtis, I have found him in the England census for 1851,1861,1871, I am trying to find a birth or baptism record, and his parents/siblings names.

the info I currently have is:

George Curtis born abt 1811 (from the censuses) in Charlton, Wiltshire, England

He married Honor Pitt 16 Oct 1842 (1819-1892) in Little Somerford, Wiltshire, England

He died 26 Jan 1879 in Little Somerford, Wiltshire, England

He had 6 or 7 children, one was Ellen Curtis (1843-1896)

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Burke Family Census

Hi,

I am trying to find a family on the 1851 census

I think I might have found them in Pentonville Prison and one of them in Islington.

Edward Burke b 1808 Galway, Ireland
Wife - Margaret Mary Maddon b 1826

Children:
William Henry Burke b 1848
Louisa Agnes Burke b 1849

I am a bit confused because If I have found the correct one they are in prison? why would a 2 year old be there?

I think I have also found William with his grandparents for the same census, is it possible he is in the census twice?

Any Information on Edwards or Margarets parents would be helpful too.
