Armed Forces / A World War General
« on: Monday 14 February 11 09:47 GMT (UK) »
Sir Richard Haking, was a WWI general closely linked to the 1915-18 BEF Commander, Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig.
Haking, born in 1861, was the son of the vicar [not sure if this is the right terminology] of the old St. Paul's Church in Halifax.
The Reverend Haking married a Rachael Violet Burford-Hancock.
Having enormous trouble unearthing details of the general's childhood and education.
I will have a heart attack if anyone comes up with a family pic.
Here's hoping.
Regards to you all from a windblown and very wet Australia.
