Wiltshire Lookup Requests / Ann Pearce birth place help please...
« on: Thursday 03 May 18 17:17 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help please. I’m trying to find where Ann Pearce b. approx 1796 was born. All I have on this lady  is she married George Hillier in 1824 at Stanton St Bernard, Wilts.
There was a James Pearce ( maybe her father) on the marriage entry as witness. I would like to find if George and Ann had any children between 1824 & 1829 as 1829 was when Ann died. I thought if they had children then maybe possibly they went to live with her parents because George remarried in 1836 and had two boys with Kezia Chandler, no mention of any other children.
That’s why I’m trying to find where Ann  was born so I can find out her mother’s name too and hopefully look at the 1841 census to see if I can find any children with the Pearce family.
All I can find is an Ann Pearce born in Buckinghamshire with father James and an Ann born in Westminster, London with father James.

Wiltshire / Parish Marriages help...
« on: Monday 30 April 18 14:28 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I am struggling to find the right Mary ???? Who married William Hillier in Wilts approx 1780-1799.
I’ve search and there are a lot of them but which one is mine I’ve no idea.
I’ve looked at marriage records and Banns to see if there is any more information on the bride like
Fathers name etc, where she came from but I’m not getting anywhere.
George Hillier b. 1791 was there son and Mary had a daughter in 1799 - baseborn so where William went I’m not sure.
There are so many Marys married to a William Hillier I don’t know which one is mine and I’m really struggling.
I just wondered if anyone had any ideas how I can find the correct Mary.

Thanks. Wendy

I'm sorry if I've posted this on the wrong area.
I've search the 2 main search sites for the marriage of Thomas Ganderton born (1811) Wolverhampton and Hannah Hadley born (1812) Shropshire (Church Stretton).
I cannot find anything. They lived in Mold, Flintshire but I'm not sure where they were married. I thought if I could find their marriage I would be able to find the names of their parents.
I would be so grateful if anyone could help me.

Thanks Wendy :)

Hello,

Just wondered if anyone can help in finding a marriage for a William Hillier & Mary Bishop - they lived in the area of Wilcot 1790. Think they may have been born about 1766.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thank you

Wiltshire Lookup Requests / Parish Records - Marraiges
« on: Wednesday 25 May 11 00:28 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

If anyone can help me I would be very grateful.

I am looking for the marraige of GEORGE HILLIER to KEZIAH CHANDLER - 21st November WOODBOROUGH, WILTS 1836.

I phoned the history centre this week only to be told they could'nt send me anything before 1837.
I am trying to find out where George came from and how old he was.

Would anyone know how I can find the marraige details eg...were there any witnesses, names of the fathers of the bride and groom etc....

I can't go back any further without this information bcause i don't know anything about George except on 1841 census he was down as 45yrs old and in 1847 he died in Devizes workhouse which states his age as 57yrs but maybe this was just a guess by the workhouse master, his two children were left there with no parents after George died as their mother died in 1841. Iv'e looked for a George born about 1796 and 1790 but I'm not really getting anywhere.

Thankyou

Hello,

I'm quite new to the site so please excuse me if I have not posted this on the right thread.
Does anyone know where I can get info on when Thomas Hillier 1841 and William Hillier 1838 entered the Devizes workhouse union. They are there in 1851 on their own as paupers their father George Hillier is nowhere to be found. I thought if I new when they were put in there It would tell me whether George died or was sent to prison.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thankyou

Wendymac ???
