Berkshire Lookup Requests / NEALE and GOODCHILD families of White Waltham
« on: Tuesday 12 March 24 22:02 GMT (UK)  »
Hello there,

Thomas Neale and Eliza Goodchild were married in 1799 at White Waltham, Berkshire.

I know they had a daughter, Lucy, born in 1818.

Any assistance to find supporting records of:
    -  other children of Thomas and Eliza
    -  death/buriel records of Thomas and Eliza
    -  parent records of Thomas and Eliza.

I contacted the parish at White Waltham and they informed me that all their records were in the Berkshire Records Office.

I am in Australia, so if anyone is going to the office to visit and can spare a little more time to try to find anything on the NEAlE and GOODCHILD family of White Waltham I would be very appreciative.

Thank you for your time.

Hi there.

I know a lot of people know William Goodall (1809-1885) the Tasmanian convict, but the William Goodall I am looking for is not the same person, although he is buried with members of the William Goodall (convict) extended family.

What I know.

1). William Goodall, buried at Warrnambool Cemetery, WES Row25 Grave 3, with a service date of 25/2/1864.
2). He is buried with 2 others:
a).   Harriet Ellen Goodall (1882-1882) - granddaughter of the convict William Goodall
b).   Edwin Goodall (1855-1912) son of the convict William Goodall

*** My Dilemma. I cannot find a corresponding Birth or Death record for William Goodall (d. 1864), and I don’t know how, or where, he fits in with convict William Goodall family.

Assumption 1:  Is he a son of the convict William Goodall?  The convict William Goodall did have a well known son William (1846-1923),  so he probably isn’t another son with the same name.

Assumption 2:  Is he an uncle, nephew, cousin etc of the convict William Goodall?

Assumption 3:  Is he a grandson of the convict William Goodall?  If so, no idea who his mother or father is.

Any assistance would be really appreciated.

Ireland / Help with a marriage record please - McNAMEE or RYAN (convicts to Australia)
« on: Wednesday 01 January 14 01:38 GMT (UK)  »
Hello there,

I am trying to confirm the marriage of the following people between 1830 and 1837  (before they were transported to Australia as convicts).

Christopher John McNamee to Mary (surname unknown)  or
Christopher John Ryan to Mary (surname unknown).

Mary's surname MIGHT be Dowling or Doyle or something similar.

I don't know where they were married but Dublin, Limerick or Westmeath could be possibilities.   Their ages would have been in late teens or in their 20's.

Any help would be VERY appreciated.

Thank you.

Australia / McNAMEE Christopher John - was he a convict???
« on: Monday 30 December 13 06:58 GMT (UK)  »
Hello All,

I would like some assistance to try and confirm, or not confirm, that Christopher was a convict.

Some researchers believe that he was a convict but I am unable to source any evidence to confirm the details.

What others believe is:
    -  he came from Westmeath in Ireland, born about 1813
    -  he was transported to Australia in 1836
    -  he was sentenced to Life
    -  he died in 1888 at Bundarra in NSW
    -  he married another convict Mary (surname unknown).  Mary was sent to Australia in 1837, and she also died in Bundarra in NSW in 1889.

If anyone can assist in providing any evidence to support any of the above I would be VERY appreciative.

Thank you, AB      :)

Australia / WALKER and BROWN - Can't find a marriage in NSW in the 1920's
« on: Wednesday 28 November 12 02:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Everyone,

I am having trouble trying to trace a marriage record for WALKER Henry David (or Harry) and BROWN Margaret (or Madge) Florence.  The marriage happened in the 1920's (or possibly early 1930's) probably in Sydney.

Any ideas?

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to track down the descendants of Henry, who was thought to have emigrated from Australia to New Zealand.  Date unknown.

I have found a marriage record for a Henry to a Fanny Amelia MORLEY in 1879, and there was possibly a daughter born in 1880 to a Henry and Fanny, but have no real evidence of anything else.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks, AB   ;)
