Hi,

I am confused and stuck on this couple on my tree. I have ordered the marriage certificate, but it hasn't come yet. William Anderson married Alice Maud Howell in Poplar in 4th quarter 1914. They had the following four children: Joseph William b 1916, Christina Elizabeth b 1918, Francis Peter b 1921 and Stanley born 1924. All the births are registered in Poplar. However for the births of three of the children Alice's maiden name is Lee and for the birth of Christina it's Howell. I presumed that Alice Maud had been born Lee and had a previous husband Howell, but I have been unable to find a marriage for that.

On the children's' baptisms, William is listed as a shipwright.

On the 1939 census Alice is a widow and is with her three youngest children still in Poplar. Her birthdate is given as 24th Oct 1880. I know these can sometimes be a year of so out, but I'm sticking with that for now. I have four a possible death for Alice in Poplar on 1965.

I have been unable to find any information about William and I am really confused about who Alice Maud actually is  - Lee or Howell.

If anyone has access to records in Poplar could look this up for me, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Minnie Morrall born 1916 in Wombwell
« on: Monday 23 October 23 14:17 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I am looking for Minnie Morrall born in 1916 in Wombwell. Her parents were Herbert Morrall and Elsie Driver. Minnie is with her family in Wombwell on the 1921 census. Her mother dies after childbirth in 1930 and Minnie is not on the 1939 census with her father in Pudsey. She would be 23 in 1939. I can't find either a marriage or a death for Minnie. If anyone can look her up for me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Shropshire / Hannah Maria Morrall born 1834 and George Morrall born 1836
« on: Sunday 15 October 23 20:30 BST (UK)  »
A member of my Miner family Ann Miner married George Morrall in 1826 at All Saints in Wellington. They had children and most of the family including them moved to Hunslet in the 1870’s. Two of their children Hannah Maria and George didn’t move and I can’t find either of them after the 1841 census. I am presuming they died, but I can’t find death records either. Any help with this would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Please can someone look Emily up for me? I am struggling with finding her before her marriage to Tom Campey in 1901. On her marriage certificate her father is named as Joseph Simmons a tailor. She dies in 1926 aged 58. I can't find her or Joseph.

Thanks for your help.

I'm a bit lost trying to find this couple. On the 1911 census they are together in Putney with their 4 children - Ronald, Reginald and twins James and Charles. They had been married for 11 years according to the census. Alice then marries Frederick G Mandry in 1913 also in Wandsworth and goes on to have 2 more children Francis and Margaret Lilian. She dies in 1930. Alice was shown on the 1911 census to have been born in Walsingham, Norfolk.

I am struggling to find a birth for Alice, her on the census before her marriage and indeed her marriage record to Frederick Harris.

Any help with this would be really appreciated.

I have a Henry Thompson and Ellen Green who married about 1885 in I think Wolverhampton. I can't find a family for Henry, but Ellen is the daughter of Isaac Green. In 1891 they are living with Isaac and their children Florence and Charlotte and Henry is recorded to be born in Derby, but in later census's when they have moved to Hunslet in Leeds he is recorded to have been born in Wolverhampton. If anyone can find a marriage for them for me I would really appreciate it and also who Henry Thomson is before his marriage. Thanks

My relative Clara Clark born 1849 married William Askin in 1868. William died in 1890 and she married Joseph Smith at St Peter Hunslet Moor in 1900. I then can't find any trace of her or Joseph after this. If anyone can look them up for me and find something I would be really grateful thanks!

Hello - I need help with the two people above. Ellen Morrall was born in Shropshire in 1829 to George Morrall and Ann nee Miner. She married Thomas Lewis was widowed and John Evans Jones, moved to Hunslet and was widowed again. On 28th Jan 1888 she married Elijah Markinson born 1844 and a bachelor at St Peter Hunslet Moor. On the marriage certificate Elijah's father is named as David Markinson. I can't find any trace of this couple after their marriage or any trace of Elijah before their wedding. The only think that is a possibility is an Elijah Markinson on the 1901 census born in Norwich Norfolk in 1851. He is married and a servant at Middleton in Leeds. I can't find Ellen, I can't find their deaths. I was thinking maybe Markinson was misspelt, but I can't find them with other similar names either. If anyone has this couple on their tree or can help me please let me know.  Thanks

Worcestershire / Mary Ann Morrell and John Taylor married 1851 Oldbury
« on: Wednesday 28 December 22 16:42 GMT (UK)  »
This is a long shot, but I'm asking anyway in case anyone can help me.

In my tree I have a Mary Ann Morrell. She was born in 1827 in Lawley Shropshire to George Morrell and Ann nee Miner. In 1848 she has a son Joseph Morrell in Oldbury Worcestershire. I haven't been able to find his birth registration. I did purchase his marriage certificate and his father is named as John Taylor a Miner. Mary Ann Morrell married John Taylor a Miner on 6th October 1851 at the Parish Church in Oldbury Worcestershire. They are both of full age and his father is named as Samuel (I think it reads Samuel) Taylor a clerk. Mary Ann is a spinster and John is a widower. I got this information from their marriage certificate.

Mary Ann remarries Isaac Onions on 22nd February 1857 in Wellington Shropshire. She is a widow so John has died between 1851 and 1857.

I am struggling to find anything else about John. It's a common name. If anyone can help me to find him before his marriage in 1851 and his death, I would be really appreciative.

Thanks
