IM trying to unravel a mystery,
Dorothy valance Robinson was born in the workhouse on 24 October 1918 burton road. we have birth certificate, it shows that Annie elizabeth Robinson as mother ( although she didn’t raise her ) domestic servant of free school lane. no father named I’m struggling with finding information out about the mother. There’s no evidence that she was legally adopted but a man named Robinson raised her, so thinking it could be a brother to Annie ? Is someone local to look at the work house records ? Thanks in advance

I have just received one of the aboves marriage certificates.
The certificate states the following
Rodger James Candlish - Divorced - DOB 18/03/1934 - birthplace Eyemouth, Berwickshire.
Time of marriage living in Edinburgh.

Father James Candlish, Iron moulder (Deceased)
mother Sarah Candlish m.s.Whittaker (Deceased)
witness John c Nesbitt
Witness Wanda w Nesbitt

Married /12/1973 divorced 1977
I can NOT find the birth of Rodger James Candlish neither can I find his parents Marriage.
Feel like I'm going crazy can anyone help me please TYIA

I have tonight been given information that my gr grandfather Henry E Pillinger born 1880 was a Bigamist and apparently was taken to court over it ,

How can I find this information out ?

I know Henry E Pillinger married Eliza Leonard in New York on 8th june 1914 as I have the certificate etc
I also thought it a bit strange marrying at an older age, I had asked family if he was married before but it is a closed book.

I received an email off a lady also claiming to be his gr granddaughter from hi first wife whom he left with 3 children whilst going to sea, whilst at sea he remarried.

on his return he was then known to be a bigamist ? help in finding this out ?
His first wife who he married in 1901 in Aston Birmingham UK was Alice Jinks 1882 she apparently applied to the courts ?

Hope someone can help im struggling with my family members names and thought the above farmhouse was in my family for many years so was hoping someone could help me with people that the house was transferred or sold too through land registry etc or businesses ??

the family name was Ramsay The farm eventually sold out of the family about 2000
any help would be good thank you in advance
