Somerset / ORABSAM, Puriton parish, 1580 marriage

Hello, Please would you help me with the following? I believe a Roger transcribed as "RIFLE" or "RIFFLE" is an ancestor of mine. At the parish of Puriton he married someone I have found transcribed as Susanna ORABSAM 22 January 1580. I have not been able to find any records for anyone else with surname ORABSAM so I think it is incorrect. Though I have tried I have not been able to find any online information on Puriton marriage records 1580. Thank you in advance for your kind help.

Hello, please can anyone help me find someone in the 1851 census?i cannot find James Reffell born 1815 (at Datchet i believe). he is not with his mother or siblings. they are recorded as Reffitt. he is 43 in the 1861 census as Reffold.

The Common Room / where to search for original Dorking records

Hello.Now that I am on holiday in England I would like to try and go and be able to look at original Dorking (Surrey) records of my family. Please tell me where such records are held. I am unsure if they are held at the church there or not. My goal is to establish the ancestors of my Joseph REFFELL (son of Joseph, ?and Sarah) baptized 16 Oct 1789 and a link between him and the William REFFELL bapt 10 March 1753 (son of Joseph ?and Sarah) and the Joseph REFFELL bapt 30 June 1786 (son of John, ?brother of Joseph bapt 2 May 1756) and Ann, all in Dorking. Joseph bapt 2 May 1756 I believe to be the father of my Joseph bapt 1789 and the son of Joseph REFFELL who married Sarah nee HARRISON in Nuthurst, Suffolk in 1734. I wonder if the roots maybe are in Suffolk.Thank you for any help.

Today I stumbled across a Jos. H. REFFELL living at Precinct 7, Kansas City Ward 12 in Jackson Missouri in 1900, born in France Febr 1837 with French parents, immigr 1850, married in 1872, wife Augusta (born in Missouri 1846 with German parents). They had 2 children. One of them is with them in 1900 but I cannot make out his forename. Nor can I make out the occupation of Jos. I would like to find the immigr of Jos., the names of his and Augusta's children, and anything at all about Jos. H. REFFELL. It is the first record I have found of anyone with my surname in France. All the families with my surname in England believe their ancestors are French but until today I have not been able to find any link to France. What is more his forename Jos could be Joseph.From 1710 right down to 1903 one of the names one son had in every family was Joseph (with one possible exception). Joseph 1710, son Joseph 1756, son Joseph 1789 my greatgreatgrandfather. Then I cannot find a son Joseph but one of his grandsons is Joseph 1858 and greatgrandsons is Joseph 1887, and my granduncle is Horace Edwin Joseph 1865 and my uncle is Edwin Herbert Joseph 1903. I cannot find Emma MOYand her husband in the 1861 census. To my knowledge she was born 1823 in Epsom, Ewell, Surry. Her maiden name is REFFELL. She married John MOY in 1859 in Blean, Kent according to FreeBMD. I believe she is the Emma Amelia MOY who died in the September quarter of 1862 in Shoreditch. Her mother's name was Amelia. I am trying to find the birth year and county or town of her husband and his first and middle names. Thank you for helping.

Please would you help me place someone I have just come across? I am unsure if the surname of James Denton REFFELL born December qtr 1869 in West London according to FreeBMD is correct. I can find no other record for him. Therefore I wonder what his surname is and who his parents are. Thank you for any help you can give me.

I have been unable to find the maiden name for Mary born 1757 buried 1831 in St Leonard Shoreditch married to John REFFELL (also found as REFFOLD, REFFIELD, REFFELD, REFFEL, REFFELLS and RIFFELL) who was christened 1767 in Dorking but for whom I have neither marriage nor death year. For them I have found 4 children, one of whom is Joseph born 1795 who was prominent in Sierra Leone, Africa where he died in 1829 and who may have had children as at least one REFFELL line in England originates in West Africa. John's parents are Thomas and Mary nee BILLINGHURST and grandparents are Joseph and Sarah nee HARRISON. Many thanks for any help anyone can give me on this as I lost my tree of about 3000 persons last week when the data chip of the USB memory fell out and vanished. So now I have about 500 people in my tree. Over 30 years of family searching and all files I wanted kept safe are now gone.

Good morning. Please would you help me locate William Alfred REFFELL, birth registered March qtr 1877, Strand? I have 2 marriages very close chronologically (Sept qtr 1898 and June qtr 1899) for William Alfred but only 1 birth and death so am almost certain that the William Alfred REFFELL who married Florence Ada MOGRIDGE is not a REFFELL. The one I am sure about has parents Richard and Emma nee NOBLE and siblings Helen M. Florence Kate, Ernest Sydney, Maude Mary and Alice Lillian. If there is another he is not in the 1881 census. Surrey / REFFELLs from Cobham

Please can anyone give me any information on the birth of James REFFELL married to Isabella Marie nee MACLOAD in 1783? Is he the same as James REVEL christened 25 January 1746 in Cobham with parents Marmaduke and Mary nee PEACOCK? Marmaduke and Mary married in Fleet Prison in 1737. They lived first in Cobham and then in Stoke d'Abernon where a settlement was made for them in 1749 when they had 6 children. I believe they had 11 altogether. Marmaduke and Mary are recorded as REVEL, REFILL, REFFIL, REFFEL and REFFELL. One of their children, Richard, married Jane and had sons William chr 1783 and James chr 1785 in Cobham. So far I have been unable to connect the Cobham and Stoke d'Abernon REFFELLs to any other branch. I imagine all the Cobham REFFELLs are related but I have been unable to link them. I wonder too if John REFFELL's marrying Ann nee BURCHATT in Cobham in 1776 points to any connection between him and the Cobham REFFELLs. John lived in Shere. Also I have a Richard Marmaduke REFFELL married to Jane, no years, no places or any other data for them. The Cobham REFFELLs may have ancestors in Lincoln if REVEL and REFFELL are related. are Thank you for any help you can give me.
