Can anyone suggest a date for this photo please? It is on a small glass plate 5 x 7 cms . I would also be very grateful if anyone could restore the photo. I believe the women in the photo are my Great Grandmother and her sister who lived in Scotland. Thank you.

I would be very grateful if someone could restore this photo of my mum and her brother? Unfortunately part of the photo which I think was taken in the mid 1920's is missing but I'm hoping it's repairable. Thank you

World War One / Is John Colquhoun's name on a War Memorial?
« on: Saturday 08 October 16 08:37 BST (UK)  »
My Grandfather's cousin John Colquhoun was killed in the 1st WW. I have found the following information about him. He was killed at France and Flanders on 3rd May 1917. He was a Private in the 1st Battalion of the Royal Scots Fusiliers number 23778.  John's name is included in the Roll of Honour under Glen Fruin which is near Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire, Scotland. He lived at Drumfad Farm, Glen Fruin when he joined the army. I've searched online to to find his name on one of the local War Memorials but no luck so far. Can anyone suggest how I might find if he's on one of the War Memorials. Thank you.

Dunbartonshire / John Colquhoun killed 1st WW
« on: Tuesday 04 October 16 14:54 BST (UK)  »
My Grandfather's cousin John Colquhoun was killed in the 1st WW in 1917. John was a Private in the Royal Scots Fusiliers and he is buried at Arras, France. His home address was Drumfad Farm, Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire which I believe is/was in the Parish of Row/Rhu at the time. I've searched online for images of the Rhu War Memorial but I can't see his name. The images for the Helensburgh Memorial aren't very clear so I'm unable to see if his name is there or not. As I don't live in the area could I ask if anyone could check if his name is on one of the memorials. Thank you.

Stirlingshire / Was this photo taken at Fintry?
« on: Tuesday 26 April 16 10:19 BST (UK)  »
This photo, which includes my uncle, Jim Colquhoun, was taken in the early 1920's. The family lived in Tayvallich and Easterhouse as well as at Rashiehill Farm, Fintry during this time. I've already posted on the Argyllshire and Lanarkshire boards in the hope that someone might be able to identify the location. I would be grateful if anyone knows if this photo was taken in the Fintry area. Thank you.

Lanarkshire / Is this taken at Easterhouse?
« on: Friday 01 April 16 09:46 BST (UK)  »
I know this is a long shot! I'm trying to find out if this photo was taken at a school in the Easterhouse area. My Uncle, James (Jim) Colquhoun who was born in 1914 is in the photo (front row on the right) The family moved into Westerhouse Farm, Easterhouse sometime between 1919 and 1921. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
