Wales / Evan
« on: Sunday 29 November 20 18:44 GMT (UK)  »
Help please. Is it likely that  someone baptised Evan would also use  the name John on other records or  do people stick to the baptised name . I  believe that John is the anglicised version, but I’m am confused as to how to search if both versions are used. Any advice on this would be really appreciated

Suffolk / Samuel South - St Margarets South Elmhall
« on: Thursday 13 September 18 11:39 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for information on Samuel South born  in 1839. His parents were Stephen and Susan/Susannah. He appears on 1841/1851/ and 1861 census's but I cannot trace him after that. He married in 1885 - Ellen Baker. I have been unable to find a death for him . I know that he was in India in the Army which would account for him between 1861 and 1885. I cannot find an Army record either. I have reason to believe that he changed his name ( His grand daughter was my mother in law)  but of course when researching family history we all know that stories handed down the family are not always correct.  I see that the family never strayed from suffolk much so I am hoping to find someone who might have information.

Canada / Nora Marguerite Harry was Mitchell
« on: Friday 18 July 14 16:17 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help find the relatives of Nora Marguerite Mitchell who married Charles Harry in Hull (East Yorkshire, England) in 1919. They went to Canada prior to 1936. Their son was Robert (Bobbie) Harry was born on 1928. They lived in Saskatoon, and Robert is listed on the Canada voters list in 1949 and Robert is listed as a civil engineer. I can find the death of Nora in 1985 in Saskatoon. I would love to find more information as I have a photo of "Bobbie " which was sent to my mum as Nora was my mums aunt and she was named after her.

Ireland / GALBRAITH IN IRELAND ABT 1800
« on: Thursday 21 February 13 23:26 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
Can anyone help please. I am looking for Richard Galbraith born abt 1806 who married Margaret Smith (Smyth) born abt 1800 both in Ireland but not sure where. Margaret was possibly Limerick. They had Elizabeth, Thomas, Margaret and Richard and were in Scotland in 1841 which was where they both died. I have certificates for the deaths. I have been looking for quite a long time now. Richard is my 3rd gt grandfather. The records I have from 1841 in Scotland down to the 1900s in Hull are all accurate but I am really stumped on this one.
