Canada / James Degraw 1824/Completed
« on: Sunday 15 September 13 15:50 BST (UK)  »
This post that leads to Mary Degraw b. 1800, Upper Canada. As it turns out, is probably " NOT MY MARY!!!!!!!!" My Mary by all census records state, my Mary, was b. 1820 - 23, Cranbro, Oxford
County, Blenheim District.

I am still at a brick wall with this person.

But...  the story behind Mary's family b. 1800, is one of persecution, illness of a brother, & the entire families on the run, for their " RELIGIOUS BELIEF'S!!!!!!!!!!!! "

Mary's younger brother Jacob Degraw b. 16th Jul 1811 Mendon, Monroe, New York - d. 5 Jan 1856 Lehi, Utah. Jacob was married to Sophia Dutton b. 20 Aug 1814 Hartford, Windsor, Vermont -
d. 17 Nov 1902 Emery, Emery, Utah.

Their story is of the LDS migration, Jacob is crippled with " POLIO, HAS A SPINAL CORD INFECTION + other health problems. Jacob is a tailor by trade, Who makes suits for Brigham Young. Brigham convinces Jacob & Sophia into traveling from New York to Utah with the rest of the " MORMONS ", gathered.

   What a " STORY IT IS!!!!!!!!!! "

Their children were...  1. Timothy b. 11 Feb 1796 Vermont - d. 12 May 1866, 2. Moses b. 1798
Vermont, * 3. Mary b. 1800 Upper Canada, 4. * John J. b. 1802 Upper Canada, 5. Catherine b. 1804 Upper Canada, 6. Sarah b. 3 May 1805 New York - d. 23 Feb 1885, 7. Aaron b. 1807 Vermont - d. 1885, 8. Jemima b. 1809 New York, 9. Jacob b. 16 Jul 1811 Mendon, Monroe, N.Y.
d. 5 Jan 1856 Lehi, Utah, UT, 10. Sophia b. 1813 New York, 11. Elizabeth b. 1816 Vermont.

A contact I work with sys's Mary could be born 1819!!!!!!!!
The mother Jemima Jourions, could she be of " FRENCH ETHNIC? " Which Mary is!!!!!!!!!!

Canada / Mary Degan Born On., Canada
« on: Thursday 15 August 13 18:10 BST (UK)  »
Mary Degan as I believe was born in 1822 ( ? ) I have confirmation from Ancestry that Mary was
born in a very remote part of northern Ontario. At their most southern points of the Drowning
River & Little Drowning River, approx. 1/2 way between. To the east of the Drowning River is a  small community called Nakina. Just north of Nakina is Twin Lake & Wababimige Lake & to the far west of Little Drowning River is Jog Lake & the Kenogami River. The Cree Nation Lives here as well & this whole area is also called the drainage basin for James Bay.

Mary Degan was married to William Dodman b. 1821 Norfolk County, Snettisham, Eng. Mary &
William were married in All Saints Church, Brantford, Brant County, On., in 1841. Mary & William
left Brant County & settled in Kent County, Zone Twp, Thamesville, On. Where they lived for
the rest of their days. Mary passed in 1874 & William passed 1875. They R.I.P. Sherman
 Cemetery, Thamesville On.

I am interested in finding whom Mary's parents were & any siblings she may have had + an
actual birthdate if 1822 is incorrect.

Thank You Very Much For Taking Time With This Post!!!!!!!!!!

Derry (Londonderry) / Abraham Holmes 1670
« on: Friday 07 June 13 22:27 BST (UK)  »
Abraham's grandfather was Ninian Holmes b. 1610 of Ballyaghran. Ninian had 2 sons that I have found, there could be more. Ninian's 1st son was John which I have no information on. Ninian's 2nd son was William b. 1640, the other son's come after William.

William 1640 had 3 son's - 1. William a merchant in Coleraine who had a son Samuel. 2. Abraham 1670 of Ballygelagh, Ballyaghran, Parish & Ballyreagh, Ballywillin Parish. Abraham had 4 son's - 1. Abraham b. 1700 married to Janet Hopkins of Ballykelly. 2. Ninian b. 1715 of Ballywillin
Parish, Ninian's son Abraham b. 1740 immigrates to New York marries Sarah O'Neal of Albany, Albany, New York & their line - of - lineage comes to Chatham On., Canada which I am a decendant of. Abraham's 3rd son is Samuel of Coleraine who has a son Samuel born in Dublin.
Abraham's 4th son is Paul who has a son Abraham.

Starting with Ninian 1610, his son's John & William 1640, his son William the merchant & Abraham 1670, is it at all possible to find wives for these men?

« on: Saturday 25 May 13 15:07 BST (UK)  »
I have posted this in various places on this site, but... this is all NEW INFORMATION!!!!

Francis born 11 Oct 1757 Thurso, Caithness, Scotland, as I believe was married once in Scotland. The only child with dates that I have is Daniel McKay b. Caithness ( Thurso ? ) 1798. The other children are 1. Catherine, 2. Elizabeth, 3. Francis ( M ), 4. Margaret, 5. Mary, 6. Peter, 7. Daniel 1798. I am interested in finding a mother for these children. The best lead is Daniel 1798. If this Francis' is who I am searching I have 2 brothers, William b. 6 Jun 1762 &, George b. 4 Jul 1765, both of Thurso, Caithness

As a possible grandfather for Francis' is Patrick Mc Kay who lived Watten, Caithness, as a possible father & mother are Donald Mc Kay b. 07 Apr 1732 Watten, Caithness & Elspet Sinclair.
As a possible Uncle I have, John Mc Kay Chritened 03 Feb 1727 Watten, Caithness.

If this Francis' is who I am searching, he died Welland, On., Canada 1813. Daniel 1798 died Welland, On., Canada 1859

If all or any information on this post, could be confirmed, I would jump for joy!!!!!!!!!!
