Family History Beginners Board / Elisabeth Haddin or Hadden born Maxwell

Looking for information on Elizabeth Maxwell who married John Haddin in Glasgow Scotland in April 1797 and had Margaret Haddin or Hadden the following year.  Margaret Haddin married Angus Allison and they migrated to Australia in 1830. Would love to know when Elisabeth was born and who her parents were.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for any information on a sword and scabbard with the inscription :-
 "PRESENTED BY MAJOR GENERAL THE RIGHT HONble LORD FREDERICK FITZCLARENCE G.C.H. TO CHARLES LAMBERT LIEUT. & ADJUTANT 62 REGT.1848".  Charles Lambert was my great great grandfather. The sword was stolen from the home in Hamilton, New Zealand, of my father's cousin, Mrs Joy Barrett, in April 1993.  Hoping that after all these years it may turn up somewhere or someone has seen it.  I would love to be able to return it to my father who it rightly belongs to.

Looking for information on William Colton who married Elizabeth in 1743 and produced Sarah born 1755 who married William Appleby and produced Maria Appleby who was baptised in 1787.  Maria Appleby had an illegitimate son who was christened as Charles Arundel born 1809.. Maria was a parishioner of St Mary Magdalene.  There is a family story that Charles had an uncle Thomas who worked or lived on the fens in Lincolnshire maybe in Boston or was a bog collector. Any new information would be greatly appreciated. dpaton

Looking for information on who Ann Robertson was before she was convicted in Glasgow on 1st May 1819 and transported on the Janus.  Would like to find out who her parents were and where she was born.

Family History Beginners Board / William Shepherd in England and Australia

Looking for any information on William Shepherd (son of Thomas Shepherd) who married Emily Steele.  William was a linen draper and in about 1853 he and Emily along with some of their children moved to Australia.  They had more children in Australia including my great grandmother Ellen Evered Shepherd in 1856.  I would love to find out anything about what William did in Australia.  I am also looking for any information that would help me find out who Williams mother was.  Hoping someone can help me find any information on their lives. United States of America / Maryland Birth - Hiram Emery Pierce

I am trying to find any information on Hiram Emery Pierce who is stated as being a mariner and a native of Baltimore, Merryland, . He is listed as being 25 in 1863 when he landed in Sydney on the Templar.  He married my gggrandmother in Sydney in 1866. He and Annie (nee Jones) then went to NZ where my greatgrandfather was born in Wellington before returning to live in Balmain Sydney.  I would really appreciate it if anyone had any information that could help me clear this up.

Australia / Charles Jones

I am trying to find any information on Charles Jones who married Margaret Tallentire in Sydney in about 1846. They had a daughter called Annie Elizabeth Jones, but I have been unable to find her birth record. I know she married Hiram Emery Pierce in 1866 and they went to New Zealand and then came back to Sydney and settled in Balmain.  Charles Jones must have died before 1866 as on Annie's marriage notice he is listed as the late Charles Jones and also Margaret apparently married a Thomas Lowe when the family moved to Wellington NZ.  She must have come back with Annie and Hiram as she dies in Balmain.  Any help in finding out any more especially who Charles Jones was and who his parents were would be greatly appreciated.
