This I believe is a photo of my maternal grandmother ADA Atkinson and her younger sister Norah. I cannot pick their age but Ada on the left is the older by 10 years.
I dont know if this was taken in UK before they came to NZ at ages 28 and 18.
The photo size is 10cmx7cm and the corners are rounded.
I think its more a black/white rather than sepia.
Hard to tell in the condition i found it in.
Thankyou for any help.

Westmeath / Parents of Thomas Weir b abt 1821 Ireland
« on: Tuesday 31 August 21 05:03 BST (UK)  »
I have an earlier topic on this subject about Thomas and Mary and their family and life in England and Wales
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=852451.18

I am hoping to discover the parents details of Thomas who on his marriage certificate 1850 are listed as John and Ann Weir.

There is a Thomas Weir and a brother William n the 1841 census for England living with an Elizabeth Weir born abt 1761 Ireland but now in Lancashire (maybe a grandmother??)
1851 census lists him as a Soldier.
On his marriage cert it says he is a Gunner in 3rd Brigade Royal Reg. of Artillery.

Any help much appreciated.

Lancashire / James Hullahan and wife Catherine
« on: Friday 27 August 21 00:46 BST (UK)  »
When Thomas Weir married Mary Ann Hullahan June 16 1850 in Everton Lancashire the parents of each were listed as John and Ann Weir and James and Ann Hullahan.

I know Thomas was born in Ireland and died in Swansea
Mary Ann was also born in Ireland abt 1833.

Is it possible to find details of either set of parents of the wedding couple please?

Wondering if anyone has access to newspapers and could find the full write up re an article that appeared in the ALCESTER Chronicle on 8th July 1893.
Headed Coughton, and it talks of the nuptials of the Duke of York and Princess May. It mentions field loaned by a Mr SUMNER .
Thanks for any interest.
