James Hullahan and wife Catherine
« on: Friday 27 August 21 00:46 BST (UK) »
When Thomas Weir married Mary Ann Hullahan June 16 1850 in Everton Lancashire the parents of each were listed as John and Ann Weir and James and Ann Hullahan.

I know Thomas was born in Ireland and died in Swansea
Mary Ann was also born in Ireland abt 1833.

Is it possible to find details of either set of parents of the wedding couple please?

Hi
Possible sisters of Thomas Weir marry at St Oswalds Liverpool  Elizabeth 21.5.1854 to Patrick Keogh and Ann 26.8.1854 to Patrick Fitzgerald.
Parents given as John Wier and Anne Farrell of West Meath which fits in with Thomas's military records which say he was born Athlone West Meath.

Have you found any of them on 1851 census or any other census?
Was Mary Ann never more specific than "Ireland" for her place of birth?
Hullahan may be Hoolhihan or variants.

Thanks for your interest. The 1891 census has Mary Weir as a widow with one of her daughters Catherine -
It also states she was born in Toseland, Offaly Ireland.

Cannot find James and Catherine anywhere, I made an error earlier by saying James and Ann, should be James and Catherine as parents of Mary Ann .

Can you please identify this Census record, England, so that I can read it on Ancestry.  Names, ages, addresses please.

Thanks for your reply, seems like Thomas  Weir married Mary Ann Hullahan  may have had a sister named Catherine as I note she is a godparent?

It was the 1891 WALES census record I saw the details for Mary Ann b abt 1833 Toseland etc.
