Hello Rootschatters - greetings from Switzerland

I've seen some wonderful examples of picture restoration/improvement on this board - but I suspect that my image is so poor that little can be done with it!

This is the only picture that I have of my grandparents Harriet May & Charles CROOK who lived in Stamford and Ryhall. This is their wedding in August 1913. The image that I have is a very poor photocopy of the original photo - I have no idea if the original photo still exists nor where to find it.

Any improvement at all would be very much appreciated!

Steve

hello RootsChatters

During the past 3 weeks I have been attempting to decipher the wording of the 1651 will of Robert Andrew, Yeoman of Long Buckby, Northamptonshire. At first I could scarcely pick out a single work, but with the aid of a magnifying glass and hours Googling phrases in other wills I have now worked out about 90% of it. Since it is very repetitive, I'm hoping that a little help from RootsChatters will enable me to decipher the rest of the will myself.

I have appended two extracts from the will which correspond to the following decryption attempts:
(of course there is no guarantee that what I have is correct!)

Item:  I give and bequeath unto my youngest Son John Andrew all that Messuage Cottage or tenement yard thereof and one quarterne or a fourth part of one yardland of land arable meadow and pasture ground with the appurtenances what ?? belonging ?? and being within the town and common fields of Long Buckby aforesaid which I the said Robert  lately purchased to me and my  heirs ?? of one Edward Oldfield Squire and Ellinor his wife ?? said premises and now in the present possession of Thomas Bull.

Susannah which shall first happen. And my Will is that she the said Susannah shall have her maintenance and ?? all other things ?? and fittings for her ?? only ?? at the new habitation of ?? the said Robert at the only ?? of my said executor.

Many thanks for your help!

Kent Lookup Requests / Deal Parish Registers - MASTERS - COMPLETED
« on: Tuesday 04 March 14 20:39 GMT (UK)  »
Could some kind person with access to Parish Registers in Deal, Kent, look up a record for me please?
I am seeking the baptism record of Samuel MASTERS, son of William MASTERS and (I think) Elizabeth, in or about 1804.

I have no idea where the marriage of Samuel's parents took place, although I'm guessing that this was also in Deal and probably between 1802-1804.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks a lot!

I wonder if someone having access to the Parish registers of Church Brampton would be kind enough to look up a marriage for a novice RootsChatter?

I'm seeking the circa 1827 marriage of Samuel MASTERS (born in Deal, Kent, 1804) and Mary (probably Mary RIGBY). I believe that Mary was a local girl and I suspect that Samuel had been living in Church Brampton for some time prior to his marriage.

Many thanks for your help
Steve
