Australia / Where is the death registration?
« on: Friday 24 September 21 05:51 BST (UK)  »
Very confusing

Paul Robert Glentworth died 15 May 1961 (findagrave)
And
Brian Donald Glentworth died 10th May 1961 (billiongraves)

How would you find the index entry for either of these men at vicbdm?

It appears they are in the same grave? I can't find either in a record outside of Melbourne General Cemetery.

I think this is her death 1967/30962   McAllister   Melba Elaine

I have a photograph of her mother Nita Bowyer. Would love to see a photo of Melba

Melba Eileen Bowyer was born in 1913 with no father listed to Nita (Althea) Bowyer.
NZBDM 1913/22261   Bowyer   Melba Eileen   Nita Selina Helena   NR.

I also think Melba went on to marry John Gordon McAllister that lived in Rotorua?

Someone on ancestry has Melba's parents wrong as she was born before my greatgrandfather arrived in New Zealand from Scotland, was widowed and then became Nita's second husband.

Travelling People / Bazena Clifton (Mother was a Smith)
« on: Thursday 08 November 18 08:57 GMT (UK)  »
"Bazena Clifton, an old lady of caste almost equal to that of a Lee or a Holland, confirms the story. She has lived in tents all her life. She was born in a tent, married from a tent"
London Evening Standard 1879

"Bazena Clifton, who said that she had sixteen children, fifteen of whom are alive, several of
them being born in a roadside tent. She says that she was married out of one of these tents ; and her brother died and was buried out of a tent at Packington, near Ashby-de-la-Zouch. This poor woman knows about three hundred families of gipsies in eleven of the Midland and Eastern
counties, and has herself, so she says, four lots of gipsies travelling in Lincolnshire at the present time. She said she could not read herself, and thinks that not one gipsy in twenty can. She has travelled all her life. Her mother, named Smith, of which there are not a few, is the mother of
fifteen children, all of whom were born in a tent."

What was her mothers fist name?
Who was her partner?
What were any of her childrens names?

The Common Room / Lie about first name on a Sheriff Decree
« on: Tuesday 25 September 18 20:28 BST (UK)  »
Could a man lie about his first name on a Sheriff Decree and get away with it?

I'm considereing investigating this index entry at Sottish Indexes:
"Mary Nicol, daughter of and residing with David Nicol (Fish Merchant), The Towers, Dysart   James Clark Junior, In His Majesty's Army, 8 Watt Street, Dysart   1917   1921   Kirkcaldy"

It sounds very close in time, gender and in location to where a rumoured child of my ancestor David Clark Junior of His Majesty's Army was born.

Watt Street intersects with the Clark family home on Station Street
