Hi

My Grandfather fought in WW1 at La Bassee Canal and was mentioned in dispatches for action on the 18th April 1918. I would like to find out more about the company leading up to and including this action. My Grandfather Daniel Stevenson 420215 Cpl, and I suspect his older and younger brother, John and James were also fighting in the same area.  I have Day Diaries for this period and have information on Daniel's action that day, but have been unable to trace John or James.
Does the regiment have a museum or archive locally where I can access records. 1911 Census shows the family at 52 Caledonia Street Paisley.

Thanks David

I'm trying to find information on a Violet Mary (or May) Carson who gave her address as 1 Cranmore Park Belfast, and who was the daughter of a Flesher. She was in Edinburgh in 1930-31, but I'am trying to find evidence of being at Cranmore Park in the 1920's - 30's. I know there was a Thomas Carson at this address till 1940's but no mention of Violet.

Any help would be greatly received

Stirlingshire / David Stevenson Janet Stevenson
« on: Friday 20 June 14 23:50 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I am investigating my family tree and trying to find the surname of Janet.  I have a copy of the register of marriages for 29/09/1850. All the entries on the page state husbands surname and wife's maiden name apart from David Stevenson and Janet Stevenson.  So my question is this, was it legally binding to state maiden name or is this just a mistake.  I know that there are a lot of Stevenson's resident in St Ninian's Stirlingshire so she could be a cousin or unrelated.  David was the second son of John Stevenson and Jane Barry and was born abt 1827.

Any help would be appreciated

David
