Sussex Lookup Requests / Baptism 1954 Horsham

We have photos of my husband on the day he was baptised, but don’t know which church, in
The Horsham area.
The nearest is St Mary’s, Horsham, or possibly the church were his patent got married about two years earlier, which was Southwater church.
The Baptism would have been about May- August 1954
Any help would be appreciated.

Family History Beginners Board / Looking for a relative who was born in 1914

I am looking for a close relative born in 1914, he is probably not living.
I have Searched for many years and i have lots of information but not his death or recent residency.
I have tried the Salvation Army but they found the wrong person with the same name,
Born in the same town, but not related
All the information I have are in the areas of Surrey and Sussex, but he also worked in Turkey
For a few years.
Is there anyone who could help me do some serious research into my dilemma.
(As this person “could” still be living it would have to be confidential)

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / FORD family, Farmers. I.O.W

The Ford family were farmers at Whitecroft Farm, Sandy Lane,
Newport, I.O.W in the mid 1700s. A property of 115 acres.
This carried on for three generations, (between approx 1760s
to 1880s)
James Ford then his son John Ford finally Johns’ son Benjamin Ford then this stopped.
I would like to find out if they they were tenant farmers or owners, ( I assume the land surrounding Carisbrooke Castle was owned by “the Crown”, so more likely to be tenant farmers)
I would also like to find out why this situation could have stopped with the Ford family.
Any help anyone can offer would be appreciated.

Surrey Resources & Offers / Conscientious objector, WW2

I have a man who was a Conscientious objector, with regards to WW2.
He had a skilled profession as an electronics engineer.
So wondered if he was put into a similar roll by the
Government during the war. Or indeed imprisoned,
(However he had children during 1940-1945 so not likely)
I have tried national archive but the online search is confusing
and I can’t travel to research.
They suggested best to try his local area, but I don’t know where to start.
His details are Donald Ernest Powell born Kingston, Surrey March 1914.
As far as I know he lived in Kingston as a child then, Banstead, Surrey.
Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

It was stated on his marriage Banns that he was a bachelor, aged above 40 yrs, when he married in
Newcastle, all saints 07.06.1744 Elizabeth Coulter
“a widow.”
His only surviving child Elizabeth is my 7th great grandmother.
I have searched all local records but only get 2 Births back to 1666, 1674
and an unnamed child1698, father John Blenkinsop, Haltwhistle.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated
