Leicestershire Lookup Requests / 1823 Bap Lookup Burbage, Leicestershire
« on: Monday 05 December 16 18:37 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I would be very grateful for a look up of the baptism for John Holman who was baptized 7.12.1823 at Burbage, son of John Holman and Ann. I am wondering if there is any more information to be had.

I am hoping to tie this baptism up with the marriage lookup at St Mary's, Leicester on another post.

With thanks

Somerset Lookup Requests / Bristol PR Marr look-up PARSLOW 1799
« on: Wednesday 12 January 11 22:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there

Has anyone  access to the Saint Augustine the Less, Bristol parish records at all? If so I would be very grateful for a look-up of the following to see if there is any more information to be had.

22.7.1799 William Lawrence Parslow married Hester Cowley.

William Lawrence Parslow hailed from Berkeley and the couple baptised their children at Berkeley. I am particularly interested in whether the PR's state that Hester and William were both from Berkeley.

Hi there

Does anyone have any information on the following badge please?

My husband's grandfather was in the Royal Flying Corps but I am wondering why he should have a badge with crossed rifles on it!

Lincolnshire / Thomas Luddington Death 1849
« on: Wednesday 24 February 10 00:40 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there

I would be very grateful for any information concerning the following burial please?

Thomas Luddington died 1849 BMD registered Dec Louth

I am looking to establish whether this Thomas Luddington is the same one who was born about 1796 at Marsh Chapel, Lincolnshire and who was living with his parents there in 1841 aged 45 but who can't be found in later census.

The Louth registration district covers Marsh Chapel but the above reference gives no age or place of death.

I am trying to establish whether he is the brother of my Ann Luddington and her sister Elizabeth (father Edward).

There is a second Thomas Luddington who was born in Hull in 1800 (father William) who can be found in later census in Lincolnshire (1861+) married to a Mary but who can't be found in the 1841 or 1851 census.

There is also a reference to a Thomas Luddington who was landlord of the Whitby Arms in Salthouse Lane, Hull  in 1853 (he was accused of assulting a prostitute but was acquitted). Now, Elizabeth Rhodes (nee Luddington) the sister of my Ann Luddington (& Thomas Luddington) ran the self same pub in 1862 so it seems likely that this Thomas Luddington is their brother and that she took over the running of the pub.

It would be very useful, therefore, to discount the Thomas Luddington who died in 1849.

Hi there

Can anyone do a look-up please for Arthur Chard Millman, a cousin of my Ancestor. I would be very interested to see when he went over to America and what became of him.

He was born 6.2.1885 in Cam, Gloucestershire and married Amanda. He lived in Chicago, Cook, Illinois.

I have just found his WW1 Draft Registration Card but cannot follow the American side of things as I don't have a World Subscription to Ancestry.

Will be grateful for any information.

Hello there

I would be very grateful if some kind soul could have a go at dating this photograph please. I believe it is either my great grandmother Louisa Shearman or possibly even her mother.

The first photograph is on navy blue card with a gold edges and rounded corners, (nothing on the back). The second is of my great grandmother Louisa Shearman. There are similarities between the two but I am not sure if it is the same woman.

With thanks
