Cheshire Lookup Requests / Memorial Inscriptions at Christ Church Macclesfield
« on: Saturday 02 July 22 20:05 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Could anyone help me find out who else is buried with Thomas TAYLOR at Christ Church Macclesfield.

Thomas died on 31/12/1839 and was buried on 05/01/1840 aged 59 years. I believe his wife to be called Ann. I know that he had two children for sure called Maria and Elizabeth as I have the census information and a copy of his will.

Thank you for any help with the M.I.s that you can offer.

The Common Room / Hillibrant Meredith PARRATT (and other various forename spellings)
« on: Saturday 17 December 16 23:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I haven't been on board for quite a while so Christmas greetings to one and all to begin with.

I'm not sure which board to plump for with this request so I thought I had best go with this one.

Hillibrant Meredith PARRATT was born c1790.  I know about his service in the Army and his marriage to Lucy Apreece (followed by the birth of their children) but I can find none of his ancestors - not even his mum and dad.  Can anyone help?  I'm not sure of his origins but suspect London/SE England.

Thanks as always.

Cheshire / What happened to Hannah?Hi again
« on: Saturday 01 November 14 18:14 GMT (UK)  »
Hi again,

One last plea for assistance with this family if I may.

Hannah GRESTY (b.1883, Ringway, Cheshire) = William Arthur LAMB (b. 1880, Wharton, Cheshire)

William was discharged from active war service with the Cheshire Regiment in 1914 (Service number 17693).  Unfit for further military service.  He died in 1939.

I am trying to find out if they had any kids and what happened to Hannah after William died.

Any help much appreciated.

Death 1962 Bucklow - Hannah LAMB - is definitely not her.  I have the cert in my hand.

Cheshire / Where on earth is "Mauds House" in Mobberley?
« on: Monday 06 January 14 20:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

Can anyone tell me anything about "Mauds House" in Mobberley?  I grew up there and never heard of it.

I have a potential ancestor whose parents lived there at the time of his baptism in 1782.

Any help is appreciated.  I have seen reference on the internet to "Mode Cottage" but I don't think they are the same dwelling.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi,

Can anyone help me find details for Martin Howard HALL - 1916 Canada Census of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.

He was born 1868 in England and his spouse may have been called Annie.

Thank you.

Nick.

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Christ Church, Macclesfield, Memorial Inscriptions.
« on: Thursday 05 September 13 15:48 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Can someone do me a huge favour if they have the records to hand and check the Christ Church, Macclesfield, Memorial Inscriptions for the following:-

Margaret HOBSON - buried 1834
Thomas HOBSON - buried 1810

I am interested to know if there are any 'Taylors' buried with them (or nearby).  I am looking specifically for husband and wife Thomas (born c1775) and Elizabeth Taylor (born 1770).

I understand Margaret HOBSON (nee Taylor) to be the mother of Thomas.

Thank you.

Nick
