Lancashire / country estates and landowners in Bury, late 1700s onwards

Hi, Can anybody tell me where I can find records of country estates in and around the Bury area from the 1700s. or possibly even earlier. In particular I am looking for anyone with the names Baron or Duxbury. Thamkyou in anticipation, Floridagirl.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / ancestors who don't want to be found

Can anyone help with this problem? I've been searching for my great grandfathers birth in 1866 probably in Liverpool. I've also looked at many years either side of this date.
I have a copy of his death certificate, he died in 1925 giving his age as 59. I know I've got the right certificate because of the address, and his daughter was the informant.
I have found him on the 1901 census with his wife and some children, but as I can find no trace of a marriage between them I can't get his fathers name to enable me to go back any further.
If anyone has had the same problem and managed to overcome it I would be really grateful for any help.
I've been searching for any info on him for years now.
I even wrote to Southampton Archives to see if there was any info registered there from when he was at sea, but they had nothing about him.
Sometimes I think he never existed, except that he fathered quite alot of children.
His name was Frederick Thomas and his wife was Sarah Ann Jane Thomas nee Jones.

Hi, Is there anybody who could do a couple of lookups in Sculcoates and Kingston upon Hull please?
Catherine Shewin baptised 25th August 1823 at St Marys Kingston upon Hull
parents are listed as William Shewin and Catherine.
Also marriage of William Shewan and Catherine Hase 25th February 1817 at Sculcoates.
As there are two different spellings of the surname, I would like to check them out just to be sure.

Could somebody please look on any of the above censuses for a John Hudson possible occupation PAINTER, sorry I have no idea of his age but he had a daughter Mary Ann born around 1857/ 1859 so she would be on the 1861 census with him.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1891/1901 census Liverpool

Could somebody please look for a George Perry in the 1891 or 1901 census?
In 1891 he would have been between 8 and 12 yrs old. His father was George, no idea of his mothers name, parents may have been born in Ireland, but not 100% sure.

Lancashire / solicitors in Manchester early 1800's

Does anyone know if there is a list of solicitors for Manchester in the early 1800's? I am hoping to find a solicitor by the name of A. Horney. I know there are Gores Directory listings for certain cities, but I'm not sure whether they cover all the main cities.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
