London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Innholders Company Records - Harding
« on: Thursday 13 November 08 20:05 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there, I am looking for records regarding a George Harding who lived at 6 College St , in the City of LOndon, at the property of the Innholders company. He was a Beadle of the company for over 20 yrs from at least 1861 till he died in Dec 1882. Just wondering if someone could do a lookup for records pertaining to his employment at the Innholders Hall, or his Freedom to the City of London. I believe the Guildhall Library may hold some records for the innholders in Ms 6649 Rough Court minute books 1803 - 78 and Ms6652 Freedom admission registers 1733 - 1921

He was supposedly born between 1802 - 1810 in Lambeth, son of a Richard Harding. I have been unable so far to trace his birth, and I have no info on his mother. Prior to becoming a Beadle, he is listed as a general dealer in Lambeth/Newington.

Any help gratefully recieved
Sincerely, Martin Eloury

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / St Mary, Lambeth records
« on: Sunday 19 February 06 01:22 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there,
I am trying to get information on the birth of George Harding son of Richard Harding. George Harding was born about 1810 in Lambeth. Both George and Richard were listed as general dealers/ grocers.  Addresses associated with the family include Camberwell, St. Giles 1836/ Poplar Row, New Kent Road, Southwark 1838/ 9 Flint Street, Walworth, St Mary Newington 1840/ 10 Webb Street, St Olaves, Southwark 1840 - 1844., 24 Bermondsey Street , St Olaves. 1845.

I have been able to track Georges progress through census returns, but his birth eludes me. I have no other information on Richard Harding or his wife. Richard was still alive in 1836 when George married an Ann Spring at St Giles Camberwell 21st June 1836, but was deceased by 1850 when he married an Emily Hardy.

On his marriage entry to Ann Spring witnesses included a William Runting and an Eliza Harding

Are there any commercial directories that may help or other indexes to St. Mary Lambeth.

thanks
