Hi,
I believe my uncle,Arthur Giles was trainer/coach? for Leeds police boxing team in the 1930/40s period. Remember being taken to see him when I was only a young girl  in the 40s and he'd gone blind. Wondered if there was any sporting photos kept for that period.Where can I look for such?

Hello,
Wonder if anyone knows if there are any records kept of past staff of the above? My Gran worked asd a lady's maid to a Lady Onslow between 1872 and 1880 Not on the cencus records unfortunately. Is it possible there are staff records of the above kept in a local library or elsewhere? I have contacted the National Trust but they don't have any such ones Is it possible that the local library or other local places keep such old staff records? Mygran was born in 1860 so would have beenabout 13 when employed. She left the area with her father and married in Leeds in1882

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to trace a tale told to me by a late relative about an uncle ? He was supposed to have been a  trainer for Leeds City Police boxing team This uncle was born in 1882 and had been a boxer himself.Wondered if there would be any sporting records or group photos held somewhere If so, where could I apply for info?

Hi there,

Am having great difficulty tracing the death of John Roobert Cooper Woodcock born Wakefield 1860 and wed my great aunt Agnes Rhoda Stone June1884 in Leeds. They had 2 sons both born C.Durham John Lockie St A.S. and Ernest Roboert both born in C.Durham. On1881 cencus Agnes is living , a widow with the 2 boys in Hull and then on 1891 cencus is back in Leeds still with the 2 boys and still a widow, but I can't find John Robert's death. Could it be they'd split up and she's put herself as a widow to save face or am I missing something? Any assistance gratefully accepted,
