Europe / Germany: I'm still looking! Can anyone find the birth of Frieda Reinhardt?
« on: Tuesday 06 September 22 15:18 BST (UK)  »
I've struggled with this for sometime now and previous leads haven't really come up with anything so I thought I would try again with a new thread.

The lady I'm looking for is Frieda Reinhardt (taking into account variants in both first and surnames).  She, I believe was born 10 April 1879 in or around Jonitz (Dessau-Roßlau), Germany.

I'm interested in Frieda, any siblings, parents, grandparents, etc ....  The more info the better!

I'm also interested in a Sophie Braeseke (taking into account variants in both first and surnames),  bc1853, believed to be from the same area.  Sophie may be related in someway to Frieda (possibly but not certain Frieda's aunt).  Sophie's father was called Otto Braeseke (occupation: farmer).

It's the German side of things I am looking at and possibly any mention of them on passenger lists (although I've not come across any yet) to/from the UK.

Would anyone know of any researchers on the ground in the aforementioned area that maybe able to assist?

Much appreciated if anyone can help.

Thank you

Europe / Germany: Birth/Marriage/Death Certificates/Records + Researchers
« on: Monday 11 May 20 16:39 BST (UK)  »
Do the aforementioned certificates actually exist?
If so, are they equivalent to the British BMDs?
What information do they contain?

Are there reliable or regulated, or whatever, German ancestry researchers paid or better still unpaid (doubt but hey ;) ) that I can contact to research the German BMD records and possibly more for me?  Who? Where? How much?  English speakers obviously preferred!

I'd be interested in any example German BMD certificates/records if anyone has anything they don't mind displaying (subject to any copyright and privacy, etc).  Translation into English where possible would be most helpful and gratefully received.

As always, all help most appreciated.  :)

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for help with the birth of a Frida (other known spellings Frieda, Freda, Freeda) Reinhardt,  April 1879, Yonitz, Germany.

I can't locate Yonitz in Germany, can anyone help with this?  Could it possibly be a miss-spelling/understanding for Konitz?

I would also like any information on Frida's siblings and parents if at all possible.

All help/information most appreciated!  :)

England / Occupation: Albert Hall
« on: Thursday 19 November 15 18:51 GMT (UK)  »
Would anyone be able to find me an occupation for the following Albert Hall please:

Info from the Jun(Q) 1927 Deaths ....

Age  61, Knaresborough, vol 9a, page 132

I'm hoping that he might have something to do with the railways.

I'm wondering if he may be the father of the Elizabeth Margaret Hall I'm searching for.  Elizabeth, at the moment, I'm roughly inclined to think was born either Sep 1910 or Sep 1911.

If this is the Albert Hall  I want he would be aged around 44 at the time of Elizabeth's birth.

Elizabeth was married in Knaresborough in 1937 so I'm wondering if the Knaresborough connection may link the two.

Any further info on the above Albert Hall would also be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

kugate  :)

Unwanted Birth, Marriage, Death Certs H to M / BIRTH: Hall
« on: Tuesday 17 November 15 10:26 GMT (UK)  »
I have the following 3 birth certificates:

Elizabeth M Hall, born May 1910, mother Bownas?, Birkenhead
Elizabeth M Hall, born Aug 1911, mother McCabe, Woolwich
Margaret E Hall, born Nov 1912, mother Lawson, Pontefract

I don't want to give them away just yet, just in case, as I'm still investigating an Elizabeth M Hall but, if it's allowed, at this stage I'm happy to share information from the certs.

England / Birth & Parents: trying to find an Elizabeth Margaret Hall and her parents
« on: Tuesday 17 November 15 09:17 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Everyone,

I'm really well and truly stuck.  Help would be very much appreciated.

I am trying to find an Elizabeth Margaret Hall and her parents.  Only interested in her birth and prior.

* According to the 1939 register she was born Sep 1910.  Don't know where but I would like to obtain Elizabeth's birth certificate.

* According to her May 1937 marriage certificate (Knaresborough) her father was called Albert Hall and he was a railway signalman ('Deceased' on Elizabeth's marriage cert).

* I don't know her mother's name.

I have already obtained 3 birth certificates which can be discounted, as follows:

Elizabeth M Hall, born May 1910, mother Bownas?, Birkenhead
Elizabeth M Hall, born Aug 1911, mother McCabe, Woolwich
Margaret E Hall, born Nov 1912, mother Lawson, Pontefract

I'd like to try and find some more concrete evidence before going for another birth certificate as the cost for this lady is adding up.

I've even considered the possibility that Elizabeth might have been adopted, in which case I'm probably up the swanny without a paddle as they say.

Anyway, many thanks for reading.

London and Middlesex / Photographers: Navada Ltd - Help wanted please
« on: Tuesday 17 May 11 07:38 BST (UK)  »
Would anybody have any information regarding Navada Ltd, 274 Oxford Street, Westminster, London between 1929 - 1937?

I would be interested to know if it is likely that I may still be able to obtain negatives/prints from them or their successors for the period mentioned.

I have a photo, with reference code, that I want to obtain further information about if at all possible.  I also know who the subject of the photo is.
