James Steel and his wife mary(nee Oliver) were buried at Flash in the early 1840's but the family had been in the area for a long time before then--so presumably there will be more Steel family burials

Hi
on 1871 census at Hargate Hill,Charlesworth,Glossop is
Bowden Steele age 53   farmer  born Staffs,Leek
   Mary                        60                        Staffs,fairfield
with them are 2 nephews and a niece all surname Wooliscroft

Bowden Steel married Mary Wooliscroft in 1845 at All Saints,Glossop so I am hoping they were always in area,on other censuses Bowden appears to be a print worker,in 1841 Bowden(Boden) appears with his brothers on Staffs census in Gradbach, dont know whether they had any children or not.

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Halifax parish register lookup WALSH
« on: Sunday 24 October 04 10:50 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
On IGI there is mention of marriage of William Walsh to Harriet Green 17/5/1830  these are my ggg grandparents, there is also baptism of Elizabeth Ann Walsh and Martha Ann Walsh 5/1/1834 parents William and Harriet (I am sure these were not twins).the only other mention that I have is baptism of Mary Walsh  10/3/1842 mother Harriet(no father named) at Latchford chapelry,Cheshire
I would like to know if any witnessess to marriage were named in parish records, also I have no idea of ages/parents/place of birth for William and Harriet and no other records of a Martha Ann Walsh. From Elizabeth's marriage cert(in Liverpool.it says William was a tailor),also since there is gap between baptism in 1835-1842 could there be other children baptised in Halifax who dont show on IGI.
   any help appreciated
      well and truly stuck,
        John
