Any information about these ladies would be welcome. Rose Jones may be hyphenated. Gladys was born in London about 1892 and was a child reciter around 1902. Lily Gorham was born in London about 1880. She may have been a singer (contralto). Sorry there is so little info but someone may be able to help. Thanks.

Warwickshire / Naden family over 4 generation
« on: Sunday 09 August 20 12:14 BST (UK)  »
I researched the Naden family over a decade ago and the recent lockdown   has given time to sort through the papers again.  Any help members can give me will be welcome. Who were they all?

The part of the family tree I am following is in outllne -
Thomas Naden Builder
George Naden I son of the above married Jane Hooper in 1822. Occupation tea merchant.
George NadenII married Sophia M A Chambers 1876?
George Naden III married Eliza Lucy Stanyard in 1879.

I have some census records
1841 Sarah B Naden showing her to be daughter of Geo I. So where is his wife Jane and where are they living? Who are the other 13 people on the premises?
1851 Geo I with
new wife Maria. Where are they living?

1871 Where is Geo I living?  5 servants suggest a big house.
Geo II and Geo III appear to be clerks but where were they living?

I have some certificates showing Geo I d 1882, Jane d 1847 at Green Lane, Sophia d 1875 and   Geo I m Maria Pedley in 1848.

Any flesh that can be added to the bare bones would be appreciated. I know it is a big ask to look at 4 generations but any bits and bobs will be welcomed.

Warwickshire / George Naden and Jane Hooper (married 1821?)
« on: Wednesday 03 July 19 17:19 BST (UK)  »
Can members help me please.  I think George and Jane married 26 Dec 1821. They lived in Birmingham. George was born somewhere around 1800 and was, I think, a tea dealer and grocer with premises in Birmingham High St. I am trying to establish their birth and death dates and indeed whatever other information might be available. I have found this family difficult to unravel as George's son and grandson are both called George as well.
Any information would be gratefully received.

Northumberland / Robert Dawson
« on: Wednesday 13 February 19 21:08 GMT (UK)  »
Can members help me please. I am trying to learn about the ancestors of Robert Dawson. The info I have is as noted below but I do not know if it is correct -

Robert Dawson's brother Joseph was born in 1800 in Newcastle; Robert possibly in Hexham.  Robert married Molly/Marry/May Kay in Oldham 14 November 1831 at St Marys.

Robert's parents are  thought to be Robert Dawson and Jane Proud and his grandparents Thomas and Dinah Dawson born 1734 and 1736 resp.

I am sorry the info is so sparse but it is all I have so any help would be wecome.

Westmorland / Joseph Dawson Stricklandgate Kendal
« on: Sunday 10 February 19 16:35 GMT (UK)  »
I have found a note which I must have made years ago but I cannot find where I got the information and whether or not it is correct. Joseph Dawson was born 25 June 1800 in Newcastle. My note suggests that he and his brother Robert Dawson (born Hexham??) were the sons of Robert Dawson (senior) and Jane Proud (married 29 Feb 1792) and that the parents of Robt Dawson (senior) were Thomas and Dinah born 1734 and 1736 resp. Can anyone  confirm that these details are correct please and also let me know if any more details can be found.

Lancashire / Who was Maria Ganett
« on: Monday 24 December 18 16:26 GMT (UK)  »
Maria Garnett was born 15 April 1790 but I can find nothing about her. She appears in a list of births in the Wilson family possibly because an Ann Garnett married John Wilson on October 30 1797 at Cartmel and most of the children of that marriage were baptised at Cartmel. It may be of course that she was born in one of the adjacent counties Westmorland or Cumberland. Could she be a child of Ann prior to marriage? I have tried lancs opc but without any success though I must admit my computer abilities are very limited. Any help or guidance members can provide would be very welcome.

Westmorland / Children of John Wilson 1773 - 1856
« on: Sunday 25 November 18 16:01 GMT (UK)  »
The following are some of the children of John Wllson -

John Wilson   b 10/2/1800,  Esther Elizabeth Wilson b 23/4/1804,  William Wilson b 5/3/1803,  Thomas Wilson  b 19/12/1805,  Eleanor Wilson b 3/4/1808.

I have the dates they were born but not the place. Can anyone help me please.  The only clue I have is that at least one worked on the Levens estate.

Any help would be welcome.
