Wiltshire Lookup Requests / Parish Register Lookup: Lacock (St. Cyriac) 1840
« on: Saturday 08 April 17 19:39 BST (UK)  »
Hoping someone can help with a check of the actual entry in the Parish Register for the following entry taken from FamilySearch:

Name:   Edmund or Edwin Bath
Gender:   Male
Christening Date:   12 Apr 1840
Christening Place:   Laycock, Wiltshire, England
Father's Name:   Holly
Mother's Name:   Ann Bath

Source details: Indexing Project (Batch) Number   C15271-1;   Film Number   : 1279307

There is no entry for the Birth in the GRO Indexes, nor on the WiltshireBMD (Register Office Index) site, so presumably the birth wasn't registered and, unfortunately, I can't obtain a Birth Certificate.

Lancashire / Haslingden Union Workhouse
« on: Sunday 02 August 09 20:40 BST (UK)  »
Wondering if there is anyone out there with knowledge of the Union Haslingden Workhouse who could help me to try to solve a problem.

Unfortunately the admissions records have not survived, which leaves me with a very solid brick wall that I can't break down about one of the inmates listed in the 1871 Census, i.e.:

George Hayden   Inmate   7   Scholar   Born: Altrincham, Cheshire.

According to the Census he was the only 'child' in the workhouse out of more than 150 inmates and no other Haydens appear.  I can find no corresponding birth registration in Cheshire or any indication of why he turned up in Haslingden.

Caernarvonshire Lookup Requests / Trefriw Parish Records, 1813 - COMPLETED
« on: Sunday 02 August 09 20:26 BST (UK)  »
Wondering if anyone has easy access to the Parish registers for Trefriw.

I am looking for confirmation of the following IGI extract to see if there is any additional information about the parents:

07 Feb 1813, William HUGHES, Parents: John HUGHES/Jane WILLIAMS, Trefriw, Caernarvon, Wales, C096231

I assume the parents weren't married as, looking at other entries, it doesn't appear to have been normal practice to record the mother's maiden name in the register

Thanks.

Hoping someone can help with locating the marriage of Henry Ashby to Mary ???, presumably about 1780.  Their three children were baptised between between 1781 and 1784 at the Toller Independent Church, and according to the baptism entries all three children were born in Geddington.
