Cheshire Lookup Requests / Widnes Cemetaries
« on: Wednesday 02 January 13 11:37 GMT (UK)  »
Happy New Year to everyone.

I am looking to see if I could possible find which cemetary my grt aunt and uncle would be buried in in WIDNES, Cheshire.

They would be interred in the Catholic Section.

At the time of their deaths they both lived at 18 Sayce Street, Widnes, which I think is near the town centre.

Matthew MULCAHY   died Dec Qtr 1939
Emma MULCAHY      died 21 December 1956

I would like to visit their grave next time I'm in the UK in October and I would be interested to know if any of their children were buried with them.

Kind regards

Am looking for the death of Robert Albert AXTON b. 1901 in England, but he and his wife Elizabeth retired to Peel, IOM where they both died.   I'm not sure when his wife died, but Robert Albert died sometime in the 1980's.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Marriage date: 16 November 1876 in Great Yarmouth.
Info off FamilySearch as follows:

Kind regards and thanks in advance of being able to help me

Lancashire / Ardwick Cemetary, Chorlton on Medlock, Manchester
« on: Wednesday 16 November 11 10:14 GMT (UK)  »
I have found the Burial of my Grt.g.g. Grandfather John Longford HARDMAN d. 1873 and it states the family Grave No. as 3576 in Ardwick Cemetary - his wife Elizabeth d. 1877, his daughter Sarah Jane and grandson Edmund both died in 1881, but it doesn't mention if they are all buried in the same grave as with John Longford HARDMAN (no grave numbers were given for them)- is there anyway I can find out if they are all in the same grave without having to check somewhere in Manchester as I don't live in the UK?

Does anyone know if the cemetary is still there and also the bodies.  It said Ardwick Cemetary stopped Internments in 1950 (the year I was born)?

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Liverpool Cemeteries
« on: Monday 22 November 10 11:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I'm looking for where my grt grandmother may be buried in Liverpool.  Her name was Jessie TINSLEY, died, 8 Sep 1935, address Gilpium St, Toxteth Park. (I have her death cert) - I've looked on the T.P. Cemetery site but she's not there, so can anyone help me in tracing her final resting place.  I don't live in the UK - would Toxteth be a long way from say Anfield Cemetery? - this is the only other cemetery I can think of.  Her husband Matthew John TINSLEY (my grt grandad I know is buried in Anfield in 1937)

Any assistance would be much appreciated.
Kind regards
Hazel

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Suicide - Manchester, Oxford Road
« on: Saturday 08 August 09 13:40 BST (UK)  »
Wonder if anyone out there could help me with a mystery?  I don't live in the UK.

My Grt grandmorther and her sister were both illegitimate, but had the same father.  After the death of their mother in 1881 the girls were 'adopted' out.  Now the family story goes, that the father of the girls was so distressed when their mother died, that he committed suicide in a theatre in Oxford Road, Manchester.  Is there anyway I could find out if this acutally happened and also perhaps find out his name if somewhere a coroner's report or newspaper article was written.  I think he shot himself!!  though somewhere in the back of my mind, I also think he may have hung himself!!!    Sorry so vague, but I'm happy that I've just found my grt granny and her sister.

Family History Beginners Board / 1901 Birmingham Prison
« on: Saturday 04 July 09 14:30 BST (UK)  »
I've just found a grt grt aunt - Clementine Tudor, born abt 1848 in Liverpool in His Majestiy's Prison, Birmingham on the 1901 census.  She states she's still married.  Can anyone tell me if I can contact someone on how to find out why she's in prison in Birmingham (this family never left Liverpool)! and what her crime & punishment was for?

Kind regards
Hazel
