East Lothian (Haddingtonshire) / Burial Records Parish of Humbie
« on: Thursday 15 February 24 00:48 GMT (UK)  »
My ggg grandmother JANE SKIRVING (nee GRAHAM) died 14 Mar 1905 in Upper Keith , Parish of Humbie.  I am trying to find out where she was buried and whether there is a headstone (doubt it though). I have tried searching on line without success and am wondering if there is some kind person able to assist. Thanks, Bill.

Cambridgeshire / Henry KING (1787-1854)
« on: Sunday 02 April 17 00:01 BST (UK)  »
Henry was my 3rd great grandfather and he died on 28 Apr 1854 at St Andrew The Less, Cambridgeshire.  I am endeavouring to locate his grave site and, hopefully, find an inscription on a headstone.  I am wondering if someone has a publication of monumental inscriptions in the area and is prepared to have a look for my grandfather.
Thanking you,  Bill.

US Lookup Requests / John McCONVILLE & Margaret McKEOWN
« on: Monday 26 December 16 05:14 GMT (UK)  »
My wife's great grandparents migrated to New York from Ireland in 1870.  Family records indicate that they married on 31 Mar 1872 in Paterson Town, New Jersey.
A daughter, Jane, was born in the same place on 10 Jan 1873.
Another daughter, Mary, died same place in 1874.
A son, James, was born same place on 2 Jul 1875.
I have been unable to locate any official BMD records on line to confirm these dates and am wondering if some kind person is able to assist. (it would be great to have as much information surrounding these events as possible.  eg where they lived, occupation of parents etc  etc).
Thanking you,   Bill.

Dumfriesshire / EWES KIRKYARD - John Anderson (1737-1806) & family
« on: Friday 15 July 16 15:28 BST (UK)  »
Thanks to the help of Rootschatters, I have learned that my 4xggrandfather, and several members of his family, are buried in this Kirkyard, which I understand is about 7 miles north of Langholme. (Refer to my post of a few days ago).  I am wondering if there is a kind person living in the area who would be prepared to visit the kirkyard and photograph the memorial stone for me. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.    Thank you,  Bill.

My 4th ggrandfather died in Selkirk 22/8/1834 and was buried in Auld Kirkyard, Selkirk. I am endeavouring to track down his Will, but with little success at this stage.  Has anyone any suggestions as to where I could direct my enquiries?

Australia / James LARKIN
« on: Wednesday 15 July 15 12:48 BST (UK)  »
James was supposedly born on 1/1/1881 in South Australia. I have SA BMDs but cannot locate his birth reg.
WA BMD indexes confirm that he married Martha Pullan in Perth in 1906.
I wonder some kind person who has access to records can let me know details of the marriage. (ie date, place, parents names etc..)
Thanking you.
Bill

I have numerous relatives (Emery & Treasure) who I believe were buried in this churchyard cemetery. Would anyone know if a transcription  of the headstones is available?
Thanks,  Bill.

Australia / Bleak House, District of Pinda, South Australia
« on: Monday 29 September 14 07:20 BST (UK)  »
Relatives of my wife (Gregory Family) were born/lived/died in and around the once town of Amyton in the Hundred of Pinda, mid north South Australia (between Wilmington and Orroroo).  BMD records make reference to an address of Bleak House, Pinda but I have been unable to establish the location/existence of the house. I have found two relatives buried in the Amyton Cemetery, which I guess confirms that they lived in reasonable proximity. Would anyone happen to have any knowledge of, and whereabouts of, the 'house'. Thank you,  Bill.
