Lanarkshire / Margaret Thomson birth 1854

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help trace the birth of Margaret Thomson. Her marriage to Charles Wyper in 1881 gives her fathers name as William Thomson and her mother as Annie

(see attachment for name, I cant decipher it).

In the 1861 Scottish census she is aged 8 (so born about 1853) living with William and Ann in Lanark

I was wondering if anyone could help me trace James Edward Jackson, estimated birth is Q4 1868 in Bangalore, India.

His wife's name was Kate, and in the 1901 England census they were living in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, with their 3 children, George Henry (aged 4), Rebecca (aged3) and Elsie (aged 1), he was working as a general labourer

In the 1911 census the family are still in Arnold but Elsie has died and James is listed as born in Manchester, he is working as a Miner (road maker)

By 1921 James and Kate only have Rebecca living with them and James is listed as born in Basford, Nottinghamshire and working as a coal hewer at Gedling Colliery

Any help in finding his birth record, passage out to India or back to England, marriage record or death record would be appreciated, Thanks

Europe / Henry Hoopman Laray (Waterman), Germany, need help

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone here can help me with Henry Hoopman Laray, he was born in approx 1855 in Hamburg, Germany. I can find him in England from 1882 when he married until his death in 1893. Prior to this i can't find any record of him. I do recall seeing somewhere his fathers name was Andrew.

If anyone could find a birth record for him or a passenger list of when he arrived in England it would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone here with more experience in Welsh records can help me. My 5x great grandmother is Jane Nevitt born 15th August 1793 in Wrexham, Denbighshire, Baptised on 27th September 1793. Her father was James and mother was Elizabeth

Jane married James Hankey on 4th May 1812 in Chester, Cheshire, England

Their children were
Maria born 1813 Wrexham
Charles 1815 Wrexham
James 1815 Wrexham
Jane 1820 Liverpool
George 1823 Liverpool
Grace 1826 Liverpool
John 1834 Liverpool

I can't find any record (birth, marriage or death) of James and Elizabeth in Wales or England, any help tracing them would be appreciated.

Travelling People / Con O' Kelly Smith 1939 register entry

Hi,
I'm hoping someone here can help me with the 1939 register. My Grandfather is listed as Con O' Kelly Smith living at Haldenby grange field gipsy encampment. As far as i can make out his date of birth is Nov ? 1911. The only other person named as sharing the same plot as him is Zederiha Smith born Dec ? 1866. i'm not sure if Zederiha is transcribed correctly. What i'm looking for is clarification that it is Haldenby grange, and if Con and Zederiha are related, if so how ?

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Louisa Ellis

Hi,

Im looking for any help in finding more info on Louisa Ellis.

According to the 1911 census she was with her husband George Revill and there son Percy. It lists her as born 1880 in Bradmore, Nottinghamshire. Also it says they had been married for 1 year but the only marriage record i can find is for Oct - Dec 1914 in Mansfield (so not married to George in 1911)

Her death index in Mansfield in 1930 says she was 49 years old and birth year 1881.

Searches of the 1891 and 1901 census's have produced no trace of her. i'm wondering if in 1911 she was living with George but was married to someone else named Mr Ellis. This is the only thing i can imagine that would explain not being able to find her in the 1891 census, when she should have been with her parents.

Looking for help in finding information on Elizabeth Clifford Sculthorpe's parents, i believe her mothers name may have been Sarah and her father may have been Richard but can find no marriage for them. there is a Richard Sculthorpe at the Suffolk lent assizes in 1813 found guilty of horse stealing and sentenced to death, not sure if this is Elizabeth's father.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Hi Everyone,

Im searching for any information on Thomas Kelk.

All i do know is he married Emily Elizabeth Nuttall (born 1895, Mansfield) in 1913 in Mansfield. They had a son Thomas Leonard Kelk, born 1916 in Mansfield and a daughter Edna Kelk, born 1922 in Mansfield.

Family say that Thomas Kelk Snr was from Worksop but i cant find a birth for him

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for some help in tracing Christiana Lawlor born. There is an ancestry members tree that says she was born in Tipperary but there is no source attached to it.

What I do know is that she was born around 1823 in Ireland, in the 1871 England census she is a widow living in Kimberworth, Yorkshire with her 3 children (William born c.1847 Ireland, Christiana born c. 1851 Ireland and Mary Ann born c. 1861 Ireland) she died in 1897 in Rotherham, Yorkshire.

Any information in regard to Christiana would be gratefully received.
