Would anyone know what the letter  V after a tenant's name means in the land tax redemptions?

Lincolnshire / Obtaining copies of wills from 1791

I've been trying to work out how to get a copy of an original will, but can't work out what you have to do.
I've found a will for John Wake, chair maker, of Boston in 1791, in the index.

Is it possible to get a copy?

Lancashire / Same couple married twice?

I've found a couple who seem to have married twice: 1st time July 1821 and 2nd time in January 1822.
Different churches, different witnesses, but it seems like the same couple to me.
Has anyone else found something similar?
Perhaps they forgot they'd already married?

Names are Jonathan Dickson and Elizabeth Reece.

I'm trying to trace the family of someone who said she was born in Galloway in 1813 (the family were living near Liverpool by 1818)


Does anyone know of a list of parishes specific to Galloway at that time?

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Harrogate parish records query

Hi,

I'm trying to find some marriages in the Harrogate area for the late 1700s and early 1800s. I've only found reference to some Bishop's Transcripts.
There is a CD for Harrogate registers, but there are almost no marriages.

Any ideas of where they are, if they are?

Could someone who is looking at the St George Hanover Square marriages for around 1811 please check the entry for a marriage between

JAMES USHER and MARY WAKE

1811, April 4

I'm trying to work out whether they are who I hope they are.
I believe the St George Hanover Square records won't be available on the new Ancestry London records.
