« on: Tuesday 30 June 20 19:53 BST (UK)  »
I wonder if someone could offer me some direction I have a Frederick Charles Cullum b,1899 whom completed Military Service between 1917 and 1920-1. I know he served with Royal Army Service Corp, EMT/63607, 882nd Company at the age of Aged 20 years. I also was told by my mother (now deceased) that Frederick had served with the Monmouthshire Regiment, # 229713.

Could someone what 882 Company did or was also what EMT/63607 mean.

Thank you.

Help in finding the death details of Mimosa Lovelock, b.31 Jul 1927, Kington, Herefordshire, England she was living with a relative in Crickhowell, Wales in 1940. I think that her mother could have been a Metcalfe. I think she may well have been living on Shropshire/Herefordshire borders in the 1960's but have no documentary evidence of this.

For Sale / Wanted / Events / The Story Of Netley Hospital by Philip Hoare.
« on: Sunday 27 November 11 20:56 GMT (UK)  »
I know over the last few months a number of members have enquired about Netley Hospital.
maybe some of you would be intrested in this talk.

Winter Talks: Spike Island - The Story Of Netley Hospital by Philip Hoare
Lymington Town Sailing Club, Bath Road Lymington, Hampshire. SO41 3SE

30 November 2011. Talk begins at 7.45. pm, £1.50, open to non-members.

For more than a hundred years of essential British and world history, from 1856-1966, the Royal Victoria Military Hospital at Netley, on the eastern banks of Southampton Water, ministered to the troops of the Empire. Patronised by Queen Victoria, hated by Florence Nightingale, this vast building would witness figures from Wilfred Owen to Noel Coward, from the first female nurses in the military to the army's first psychiatric asylum. Now demolished, Netley Hospital's memory and myths persist, wreathed in intrigue and in the disasters of war.
