Nottinghamshire / Nottingham's General Cemetery
« on: Tuesday 03 March 09 01:41 GMT (UK)  »
Ive recently found out that my GtGt grandparents Enoch & Harriet Windley died 1922 & 1936 respectively, are buried at the General Cemetery. I also know that the grave number is: 4502

Im having a major problem finding the location of said plot. I have rang Wilford Hill Cemetery on (0115) 915 2340 who have told me I need to speak to the Superintendent Annette on 0115 915 3245 & Ive also been given her mobile & email, but these phones/emails have not been answered in over two weeks.

Has anybody got any ideas on how I could take this further or find out where the plot is?

Thanks

Hello All

First poster & newb genealogist here, only been looking for 2 weeks but looks like ill be around for some time

Im researching my gt. gt. Grandfather: Albert Edward Hornby

Born around 1881

Married to Matilda Windley

Children: Edna (abt1911), Elsie (1913) & Edith (abt1920)

5823 Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derby Shire Regiment) 45th and 95th Foot

He earned The Queens South African Medal with Five Clasps

Death in Nottingham at around 70-75 yrs old. 1950ish.

I have done really well with Matilda but Albert has become a stumbling block, so any ideas where I might go from here or ANY help whatsoever would be gratefully received.
