Yorkshire (West Riding) / Abraham Lunn
« on: Saturday 21 April 12 17:35 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I think the death of Elizabeth Lunn in Woodhouse is correct  As mentioned
they lived in the Woodhouse area of Leeds.
Dont know why we cannot find Abraham in death so maybe he moved away
after Elizabeth died and could have gone to his part of Yorkshire near Snaith?

I noticed that there is a 18 year gap in baptisms in the Snaith register from
1790 until 1808 which of course just cuts out your Abraham in the register.
Shame.

Lanarkshire / John McAllister b 1921 Forth, Lanarks
« on: Saturday 12 March 11 11:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,
Not been on the Scottish site before but looking for some help and advice.
I am researching my ex's family for my son as I want it to be a present for
his 40th birthday this year.
I need to know who the parents of John Brown McAllister b 1921 and I
think it was Forth, Lanarkshire although the family story goes that it
was Stirling, so dont know which is correct.  I think it was on the 6th March.
He passed away in Torquay, Devon in the year 2000.
He had a brother called James and a sister who was either called Marjorie or Margaret.
I just need a starter with his parents so I can try and research it back. If no one can help I will of course buy his birth certificate but just wondered if anyone knew if there were any records I could find this information from or
even people who have this man on their trees.
Thanks for any help

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) Lookup Requests / Albert Frederick Hartley 1903
« on: Wednesday 01 December 10 22:16 GMT (UK)  »
My friend's Father Albert did not tell her much about his parents and family life and she is interested in going back from 1903 when Albert was born.
Is anyone able to start me off with his parents and also her Mothers parents
if possible. Fanny was younger than Albert and she thinks she was born around 1910 time?.
She was Fanny Evelyn Adams and as far as she knows both of them were
born in Scarboro'. Sounds a little vague I know but maybe someone has come across them. :-\   Any help will be gratefully received.
Thanking you

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Henry Bavill of Leeds Yorkshire b about 1908
« on: Monday 13 September 10 16:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi all
Wondered if anyone could help with the 1911 census as I have most of
my family lines but my Uncle by marriage who died 1961 down in Sussex area called Henry Bavill was born in Leeds around 1908 time and married Edith Routledge in 1929 in Leeds. They lived in the Kirkstall area of Leeds but I am trying to find out where  Uncle Henry was living in 1911 and who with. I am hoping his parents were William and Mary and he could have siblings as well. If he is on the census he would be young but could be in any part of Leeds North West, or even North of the city. Could some kind person with the 1911 census look him up for me
Thanks for any help.  Dont know his year of birth as exact but death year is definitely 1961 as I was 14 and on holiday in Blackpool when I heard about his death. Thanks.

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Florence Cecelia Harrop b 1910
« on: Tuesday 27 July 10 10:07 BST (UK)  »
I need some help with my late Aunties Father. I wondered if anyone with the 1911 census could look at my Aunties relatives living in the house at Morley, Nr Leeds.
Her Mum was called Fanny Harrop nee Farrar and her Father on the birth certificate was Isaac Harrop. I cannot find any marriage for Fanny but I have found a marriage for Isaac with another woman in Lancashire.
I am just wondering if my Aunt was illegitimate so therefore wanted to know who is in the same house on the 1911 c.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / John Parr d 1865 Nottingham
« on: Thursday 26 November 09 19:37 GMT (UK)  »
I read an article about the above a while ago and have lost contact with the person who wanted information about John Parr and his wife Ellen.
John was a registrar in Nottingham and passed away in 1865 and was buried in St Marys Church in the Lace Market and his wife Ellen then had to live in
Alms houses and I said I would go look in the Church to see if I could find their graves.
This I have done but I cannot find the person who wanted the information.
John and Ellen are not in St Marys Church graveyard. I met the Vicar whilst looking for them and he said that there were 4 graveyards for St Marys because there wasnt enough land. One is covered by the new Ice Skating rink another under some other building, but there is a spot on the main graveyard on Mansfield Road reserved for St Marys community. So I couldnt go any further in finding the grave itself. Sorry that it lead to not much, but I did try, hope this information is of some help to whoever it was that needed the information,
