Does anyone know how I can make a list of one family name from my file without including other names through marriage?
I would like to send a list of one family from my file to a relative that includes names, dates and places as well as marriages and childrens details.
Can anyone tell me how to do this if it is possible, he doesn't want extended families but there are a vast number of names in this file.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Could someone please look up a William and Sarah Wilkinson for me. They would be in Hull or Sutton in Holderness areas. All I know about them is that William was a ships carpenter. I assume he would have been born around 1800. His son was living in Jenning Street in 1841 aged 17 but with another family.

Thank you.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / WILKINSON Yorkshire. My brickwall
« on: Monday 28 April 08 19:19 BST (UK)  »
Hello everyone,

I know I have asked about this before but I still haven't been able to get any further, so I am hoping that maybe someone who hasn't seen my question before can help me.

My 2X great grandfather Richard Charles Wilkinson was born on a barge in Thorne 1823. He married Jane Gibson 1846 in Hull and was a shipwright. His family continued to live in Hull according to the census records.

My problem is in trying to find his parents William and Sarah. William was also a shipwright and though I found Richard on the 1841 census living with another family called Smith, I can't make a decision as to which couple are William and Sarah his parents. I have no idea when or where they were born. I suppose as a shipwright he could have travelled to Thorne at the time of his son's birth to work, so I have no idea how to find any more information on them.

If anyone can come up with any suggestions I would appreciate it very much.

Thank you.

The Common Room / stillborn around 1900
« on: Sunday 01 July 07 19:09 BST (UK)  »
I am not sure where to post this.

Did a stillbirth need to be registered around 1900 and/or was a death registered?

I have some children who I have been told were twins but where as one lived a short while and had a birth registered I can't find a registration for the stillborn twin.

If the birth wasn't registered would a death be registered for the stillborn?

Thanks.

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Birhs in West Butterwick Please
« on: Wednesday 18 April 07 14:47 BST (UK)  »
Would it possible for someone to look up 2 births for me?

Ambrose Whiteley died Dec 1871. According to the inquest he was 10 years old, according to FBMD he was 12 and according to a death card I have he was 7. I can't find his birth, though I know he was born in West Butterwick, Linc's.

His sister Annie died at the same time. According to the inquest she was 6, FBMD says she was 6 but the death card I have says she was 3. Again I can't find a birth in West Butterwick.

Their mother also died at the same time, they were all drowned. I do have her details.

They were the wife and children of my great grandfather and I would be very grateful for any help.

Thanks.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Electoral Roll Hull (1823 to 1846)
« on: Wednesday 28 February 07 20:24 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

I have never used the electoral rolls to find information and have no idea how far back these go, but if it is possible, I would be very grateful if someone could look up some information for me.

I am still trying to find my great great grandfather Richard Charles Wilkinson with his parents William and Sarah Wilkinson.

I have found Richard on the 1841 census living in Jennings Street, Hull with another family called Smith but can't guess which of the William and Sarah's are his parents. I am hoping he can be found on the electoral roll at some point and maybe get some information about his parents that will help me know when they were born and where they are from.

Richard was born 1823 in Thorne (on a barge) he was married 1846 in Hull. Both Richard and his father were shipwrights or ships joiners at some point.

Is there any information out there that can help me find William and Sarah?

I would be very grateful.
