The Common Room / Public Family Trees
« on: Sunday 12 April 15 22:27 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I know so many posts have been made on this subject but I don't know whether to pursue this one or not.

There is a tree on An.... that has nearly all my Grandfather's family on it, including my grandmother who is still living. The person has the right name & marriage but wrong birth details. I contacted this member & kindly asked that they make my grandmother private as she is still living and also pointed out that her birth details were wrong.

The person promptly replied hat he had deleting her all together (without questing her birth details). The when looking more closely I found that the person had gone completely wrong on one part of his tree (my family) and was just copying records willy nilly (one person for example has a mother called Sarah & Father George but the baptism record saved to this person has completely different name and was baptised in a different area as to where he was supposedly born. I have the correct records for this family as I have done extensive research on them.

Question, do I start pointing out the mistakes or just leave well alone. My tree in private but it seems he has no interest in my input. I am sure that I will find many more mistakes as this person has added so much in the last week.

London and Middlesex / Rosina Martin Dewar
« on: Thursday 29 August 13 15:53 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

A Rosina Martin Dewar was born 1872, Holborn. She married  Walter Pigott on 22/12/1895, Islington.

Her father is listed a John Dewar, brass finisher. I can find her & Walter in 1901 & 1911 but she I can not find her in 1881 or 1891.

Can anyone spot her?

Hi,

After using Rootschat for a long time and having posted many times I have just come across a message (Awaiting Approval) to one of my posts.

Is this normal, never happened before.

London and Middlesex / George Hartwell abt 1796
« on: Saturday 22 June 13 22:05 BST (UK)  »

Hi,

I am trying to go further back with my gggg grandfather George Hartwell.
From 1841 census HO107/694/10, I believe he was born abt 1796 and I think he married Eliza Mason in 1814 as a minor and then to Sarah Clulow in 1833. I have the family from there but cannot go backwards.

The Hartwell family continued to live in the East End of London (Mile End, Hackney, Stepney).

Any help on George's parents would be greatly appreciated.

This is another post of mine concerning his son William.

United States of America / Mickelson Family - Minnesota
« on: Saturday 01 June 13 19:25 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Completely new to this board and for searching in the USA.

I have a Mickelson family from Minnesota that I would like to find more info on.

Here is what I have.

Arnold Hover Mickelson married Kathleen Daisey Nash in Manitoba, Canada in 1942. On his marriage and death records his parents are down as Adolph Mickelson & Bessie (Bettsie) Elfson.

I found that Arnold H and his family were from Minnesota and at some point Arnold moved to Canada.

I am trying to find out more info on the family in Minnesota. 1910 census has them living at Crookston Ward 2, Polk, Minnesota. I can not find any birth records for any of the children (Clara 1896, Ruby 1897, Elmer 1899, Lloyd 1901, Emma 1904 and Arnold Hover 1905) or a marriage for Adolph and Bessie/Betsie.

Thanks

Hi,

I am looking for the baptism record for Benjamin Henry Issitt/Issett. From Census records he was born c1836 - 1838, Holborn area. I believe his parents were William & Martha.

Most records have him as just Henry.

1841 census HO107/671/7
1851 census HO107/1515/243/12
1861 census can not locate them
1871 census RG10/216/67/57 (with wife Alice Burgess)

Marriage to Alice 1864, Gray's Inn Road Holy Trinity

I have found some siblings baptised at St Pancras (Martha 1835 and William Thomas 1833). William's occ was a musician.
