Dublin / I can't get my fathers birth certicate!! Help please
« on: Tuesday 16 August 05 10:02 BST (UK)  »
I'm in a pickle! I looked at the form that i have to complete for a copy of my fathers (Richard Kavanagh) birth entry in Dublin 1932, and i have to give my grandmothers name. The reason i want my fathers birth details is so that i can find out my grandparents names!!

I only have my fathers name and full date of birth and know that he was born in Dublin, but as i can't supply his mothers name then the registrar office will return my application :-[

What do i do now?

Is there any other way that i could get the extract that i want?? I can't get to Ireland either.

I want to make a start on my Kavanagh family tree and before i get going i have already hit a brick wall!! :'(

Yours desperately

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / 1861 cenus lookup- Bloomsbury
« on: Saturday 29 January 05 22:33 GMT (UK)  »
If someone could spare the time I really would be grateful for a lookup in Bloomsbury for James Kilroy and his wife Honour and son William.
Im desperate to know the birth place of James Kilroy as im pretty sure its not England but really need to know what was on the 1861 census to confirm this.
James' age at the time of the 1861 census is disputable because when he married in 1853 he was said to be 30yrs putting his year of birth at c.1823,but when he died in 1871 his age was 56 yrs this pushed his birth year back to c.1815. so in 1861 he could be either 38 or 46  :o.
What I do know for certain is that:
Honor/Honour Kilroy would be 29/30 yrs old, born c.1832 in Barrow Suffolk
William Kilroy would be 1/2 yrs, born c.1859 in Barrow, Suffolk

Bloomsbury district is where the family settled after relocating from Barrow sometime between 1859 and 1862 where their next child was born and they where still in bloomsbury up until James' death in 1871.

The only help I can give you as to whereabouts in Bloomsbury they might be living in 1861 is in St George/St Giles area, as this is where their second child Elijah was born.

Any help is appreciated.

« on: Saturday 29 January 05 21:44 GMT (UK)  »
Would some kind soul look up the suffolk 1861 census for James Kilroy and his wife Honour and son William.
Its possible that this family will be in Barrow (Thingoe district) as this is the home village of Honour (nee Pryke).Im not sure if they will be there, but its worth a shot :-\.
Im sorry I can not be more specific about their whereabouts at this time and if they can not be found in Barrow they could be anywhere in Suffolk.

Iam absolutely desperate to find out where James Kilroy was born and not having alot of luck tracking him down so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Would someone be kind enough to take a look through the 1871 census for me to find William Thomas Barlow.
William was born c.1867/68 so would have been 3 or 4 years old in 1871 and his fathers first name was Henry and his mothers first name was Mary. Im afraid I do not know in which area to look for my Barlow's, sorry I can not be more specific.

thanks

Essex Lookup Requests / 1851 census Essex - 61st Regiment of Foot Soldiers

I am looking for James Kilroy who was a soldier in the 61st Regiment of Foot battalion during the mid 1800's but unfortunately I do not know where the battalion was stationed in 1851, so this is a long shot but if anyone comes across the regiment in Essex 1851 census please please could you leave a message for me!! I would be very grateful ;D
James Kilroy married in 1853 in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk but a search has not found him in Suffolk during 1851, whence my asking here for help.

Suffolk Completed Lookup Requests / Kilroy in 1851 Census Lookup Please
« on: Thursday 13 January 05 14:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hi from a new member!

Would it be possible to look in the 1851 census index for JAMES KILROY.
I really need to know in what country he was born and if the index shows the actual parish too i would be over the moon! James' age in 1851 is debatable because i think he told a few pork pies about it when he married in 1853 (to Honor Pryke of Barrow, Suffolk) he was 30 years old, which made his birth year 1922/23, but when he died in 1871 he was 56 years old which would have made  his birth year circa 1814/1815!!!!!
If it helps at all, James and Honor married in St James district of Bury St Edmunds

Thanks in advance for any help
